The osprey season is in full swing. The two chicks at Loch Garten have been examined, ringed and named and other nests in the area are following along in due time.
We are glad to be following two healthy juveniles named Willow and Rowan.
Hi JUNE - Thought you gave up on the ospreys.
Not all good news the last two days from observed nests.
CERI at Dyfi in Trouble.
Concern at Manton Bay Rutland over T6
And I believe W8 at Glaslyn has problems also.
Not given up, Keith. Just overwhelmed. Just came in from a walk around my yard. Ten times as much to do as I can possibly hope to get done and no one to help me. Pretty much the same thing with the osprey. I am a cam watcher as I am not in reach of the UK nests which have my interest. And just seems to be so much struggle for so little reward. Technology (Mine in particular and seems to be pretty much all of it in general)is so much inferior to what it was 5 or 7 years ago.
Thanks for the links, even tho you say it is not good news. I will check them out.
Evening June, Keith and any lurkers. Just thought I'd say hello. Fingers crossed for the three ailing youngsters. It is distressing to watch poor Ceri on the Dyfi nest, but the experts say they cannot intervene without risking even further distress and/or damage to the ailing juvies and very possibly to the other Ospreys on those nests as well. So we simply can only watch and hope and nature will take its course. I suppose we can console ourselves with the thought that for the most part, those nests which we can follow on this forum have had a very successful season this year with many healthy chicks which have successfully fledged. Fingers crossed for them all. (I'm off to bed now!)
Kind regards, Ann
Good evening all. June glad to see you posting on Gabfest again! Ive been catching up and was shocked to see that Ceri at Dyfi and T6 at Rutland have been unwell. Hope Ceri makes a full recovery as T6. T6 seems to be getting better.
I agree with Gardenbirder that it generally has been a successful season. Great that EJ and Odin have had a good season as last year no chicks!
June I think cows are very gentle creatures even though i have had my arms kicked many times while milking!

All is well at LG this morning. When I look in on the cam I find an empty nest, but DU shows the family up and about
Hi June, I presume you have seen the sad news about Ceri on the Dyfi nest? Very sad, though it is probably best that it came now and not later, say in a month or so, when Monty will be needing to get ready for his migration rather than looking after an ailing youngster. I am trying to think about Ceri's big sister Clarach who returned this year and about all the other successes with our beautiful Ospreys. At least LG has had a brood this year, unlike last year, and the ailing chick at Manton Bay at Rutland Water seems to be recovering.
Also all seems well at Rutland Manton Bay These pictures are from Rutland's website, dated today, the 21st.
