The osprey season is in full swing. The two chicks at Loch Garten have been examined, ringed and named and other nests in the area are following along in due time.
We are glad to be following two healthy juveniles named Willow and Rowan.
While we were away we stayed in a lovely campsite surrounded by cattle :) The farmers kept a few dairy cattle to raise beef calves. I love cows and have worked with them. Very gentle creatures. Heres one with a heart shape on her face
We visited some really fascinating caves in the Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole.
The stalacmites are growing upwards and in a perfectly still pool of water and the reflection is perfect, fascinating and take thousands of years to develop
Yet again my heart goes out to the people of France with that viscious and savage attack on innocent people enjoying the celebrations on Bastille Day.So very sad
Good night all :) Sleeppeacefully in this ever increasingly violent world :(

Good afternoon Willow, Keith, Ann and any who might be reading.
For the last several weeks I have been in the process of switching from Cable to Fiberopitics. It was not an easy transition but I think has now been completely completed. EXCEPT for my Email. The problems here seem to revolve around the forgotten password for my old account and a typing error for my new account - which I am beginning to believe was made not by me, but by the pro who set up my new email account.
Anyway, for the last several days I have been so frustrated trying to sort out all this that I have neglected Gabfest. When I have tuned in to the cam, the nest is empty or the cam is not working. So just frustration there too.
Willow to respond to some of your posts. The Terrorist attacks and attacks on our Police have become so numerous that I cannot sort one from another. The whole scene is just tragic! I could preach a sermon on that topic, but no one wants to hear it. So nuff said by me.
I'm glad you have been enjoying nature in the form of caves and stalacmites. They are indeed fascinating. Thanks for your lovely picture.
As for cows, You are unique as you are the first person I ever heard say they loved cows. Although my boss at the Children's home where I worked once said the pigs raised by our boys were "Beautiful".
The only cow I ever "knew" was our milkcow Polly. She was a Jersey with red hair and a temper to match. I neither liked nor disliked her, just knew to stay well away from her if we entered the pasture where she was.
