WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey topics) SUNDAY, JUNE 26, 2016

A new week - no posh link to last week's thread I'm afraid, but then again, it may not be worth the aggravation!  :-)

  • We had a great day yesterday. We decided to go to Lossiemouth  as OH had decided he would like some beer from a micro brewery there. We got the beer and an engraved 500ml glass and this was to be part of his birthday gift so I was well pleased. We then went for a walk on west beach, had a snack at a cafe by the harbour, then walked at east beach. We bought an ice cream cone each for our walk back to the car and Benson got a little from us both.  The weather, though not great was ok. We both love Lossie. OH was stationed there in 83/4 and we had a wonderful 2 years.

  • A brewery there, might try to investigate in a few weeks time!

  • KEITH   The brewery is called Windswept and it is in Coulardbank Industrial Estate which is not far from RAF Lossie main gate Hope you enjoy your visit up here and of course the beer if you do buy it.   You have had a tough time recently and it will be good to get a break.

  • Thank you very much. noted in memory I hope. Lossiemouth was where one of my relatives was serving in Coastal Command, just never managed to get there. This time it is a MUST. NOT if but WHEN!

  • My girls and I have drunk Windswept Blonde for a while..

Buying it at Lossiemouth with cake at Mountain Cafe and lunch at Castle Grant.

Bought a case last week and disappointed as the leave yeast in bottle. Taste strange and on contact they couldn't care less. FB page I gave the one star and will use the many local breweries in future. Customer service was bad as I think lady at brewery should have told us about the change.

Other local breweries give you a local peeps discount... Well done them.

  • Wendyb: you need to check on the bottle if it is BOTTLE CONDITIONED. If it is then you need to pour carefully. I have had to tell many of our locals how to do it! Got a few pints for my efforts. Thank you for all your help raising my spirits. Needless to say: HIC!

  • Keith I assumed it was the same as before but they changed their conditioning.

Daughter ex publican could not believe their attitude and she can pour a pint without their nanny advice if they had suggested changes at purchase.

We do guest beers wherever we are so disappointed by their service.

  • Wendyb: That attitude I can understand but not approve. They need to educate customers gently into the ART!

  • Hello all, Linda, just read that you might be leaving - oh no you don't - we all have our opinions whether right or wrong , democracy spoke up but that is not to say its right  or wrong. Times will be difficult to start with, it will take a time to settle down but things will. Love your poems and the way you chatter on with things.

George - lovely to hear from you. Glad you had a nice lunch out.

Annette - sorry to hear about the fires and the flooding over there.

Heard about the roller coaster accident. What is going on with these rides, another one has come off the rails. I know its only the second one , but one too many.

AQ - how is that knee doing, I'm afraid I only kept my exercises up till the physio sessions finished (after 6 weeks). Do try and get to the gym to swim up to twice a week though!!!

OG understand that your break was perhaps near Rutland Water as you made some reference the other week.  Had a friend from church say they had visited Manton Bay for the first time today and were very impressed. Saw the chicks etc. Said they might go again. Perhaps another convert to ospreyland.
