A new week - no posh link to last week's thread I'm afraid, but then again, it may not be worth the aggravation! :-)
Congratulations to Wales on beating Belgium.
Blimey! Wales have knocked out Belgium. They are putting England to shame.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
AQ - so pleased to hear you have dropped your frame and stick. Keep it up. Nice of dau and twins to drop in and bring you some books to keep you occupied!
Brenda, thanks for asking, OH's ear has healed up fine, graft took, just got to see the consultant next month for follow-up and hopefully will be signed off.
J seems to be rushing into it with the Mission, OG. Dau has 4 days before she starts at the Holiday Club which runs for a week. Do hope he rests as much as he can inbetween events.
Annette - wild life volunteering, hope it comes off for you.
Regarding the family home - brother has said that the so called developer has no money to complete the building work at present so goodness knows when it will be. The developer, in my opinion, should sell to a developer who would complete the work, even if he makes a loss.I await the next chapter in the saga.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Have a lovely weekend all, see you soon.
OG: I'm not doing any wildlife activity (Gray Whale Count ended in May) unless you count Lightning and the hummingbirds. As it was, the Wildlife Rescue Center orientation had to be postponed at the last minute, but there'll be another one fairly soon. Fingers crossed the Housemartin nest survives the season. Just Googled the Riding of the Marches. Hope the pesky English didn't do any harm! I've heard of the Hole in the Wall Gang, but not the Hole in the Hedge... :-)
Clare: Crows all over the world have that same rather imperious stare. Our two resident crows now have three very noisy and demanding kids in tow. What a racket! I'm wondering how long the parents will put up with them and if the youngsters will decide it's easier to stay in the neighborhood and watch for me or OH to leave Lightning's food out too long. One of our California Towhees had a young one in tow this morning too. It's all happening. :-)
Lynette: What a pain about the family home. Sounds like it's going to drag on...
Have a good Saturday all.
Hi Clare great photos. Not many crows in my garden here in Aldeburgh but have both Jackdaws and Rooks. They both have babies and the noise the kids make squawking for food is incredible and they don't give up until they get something.
How to rescue an Eagle. American style!
Birdies LG DU update.
Blimey, Mike. That was very lucky - it's really hard to accurately shoot a small-bore rifle in windy conditions! I'm so pleased he succeeded but I'm equally glad he didn't hit the wrong thing.
Looking at the marks in that tree branch I reckon I know what he his specialism was! There are numerous lines side by side. Some shooting!
