A new week - no posh link to last week's thread I'm afraid, but then again, it may not be worth the aggravation! :-)
I am not going to look in any detail at foregoing posts - if I upset anyone by having replied to a post from another, so-be-it. I wish we could all continue as if posts and events since, say, last Wednesday had not happened, and "forgive and forget", and I am sure we could all be happy again. So any posts which have been made which are deserving of commiserations for sickness, sadness, unhappiness or confusion, then those commiserations are from me to you this evening!
So, I shall continue to read and post from tomorrow onwards and hopefully enjoy hearing your news and sharing my own. Best wishes to ALL!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
And here I thought we were starting a New Week!
Heather: Got your e-mail. I'll ask my sister if she's heard about the amnesty next time I e-mail her, but the Referendum fallout has dominated most of our exchanges. She has a houseful of lovely old stuff but her daughter doesn't have room for any of it and her son has categorically refused to relieve her and my BiL of it. As it is, he and his spouse plus three kids are living in a shoe (a nice shoe, but a very small one). He was looking to buy a bigger one, but he works for a European bank and is now reluctant to make any big decisions.
George: The view from the Bay Hotel must've been lovely. How long before your trip to LG?
Brenda: That data about younger voters is interesting and not peculiar to the UK. It's interesting that they can get all fired up and then sort of disappear come election day. On the other hand, my sister wrote a letter to the editor of a paper on that topic declaring that in darkest Lincolnshire, there were at least two oldies who'd voted to Remain. :-) Here, Democrats are afraid that Bernie's young, idealistic followers may also disappear now he's not the nominee. However, I think Bernie will come through and do his best to rally them. It helps that top Republicans are also denouncing Trump (too bad he didn't fall off that Scottish cliff).
Margo: Hope you're doing okay and enjoying have your delightful OH around. I bet Billie is being spoiled rotten by the pair of you.
My friend is arriving by train at 3:20 so must go and hose down.
Take care everyone. Hope all the relevant knickers will be untwisted before long. :-)
Heather B said: It would seem that quite a few of us are talking via email and phone etc. I am not prepared to carry on with messages relayed via another person. I am leaving this site permanently but will always welcome messages from those who have my email address and/or phone number. Thank you all for lots of years of chat and pleasure xxx

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Oh dear! I have been more or less keeping up with the osprey threads and just now been reading this one and am very upset to see people may be leaving here. I did not think things were personal, - that I saw, anyway - just a few opinions on an important current topic. Surely we can get back to the everyday matters, I would miss friends on here even though I do not chat much myself. (I must make more effort...!)
ChrisyB: Good to see you, regardless how much you chat - or not. :-)
AQ: Hope you haven't worn yourself out with those exercises.
Visited my own Physio yesterday. She was very encouraging. I am enthused to be a good girl. Exercise will get knee working soonest. Today I feel good and tomorrow’s mini-goal will be to attempt to graduate from frame to walking stick. I must do so before next week. I have all these mini-goals. How my world has shrunk. On the other hand I have time to catch up on phone calls.
LINDY I feel as above. Please don't go. Things just won't be the same without you. x
EVERYONE- I have just signed in briefly to apologise to BRENDA and LINDY and all readers of this thread for the way in which I worded things. It was out of character and in a way underlines what I have often said, one should never send an angry letter or email without putting to one side and re-reading it later. As a founder member of this thread I will miss you all. Take care.
And so ... more of the same. Can we please act like grown-ups on here? Maybe this is a hot-headed reply, but I am going to send it, and still hope to carry on as before.
And now.....for something completely different.
Limpy and I made our first visit to Bempton Cliffs on Sunday and what a lovely day we had. If you click on this colourful bird you'll see some more:
