HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat thread is here.

On Monday: HAPPY SOLSTICE and HAPPY FULL MOON!

This will be the first Full Moon to fall on the June Solstice since 1967 -- the Summer of Love! -- according to EarthSky. Other sources say it hasn't happened since 1948.

The Slooh Observatory will host an online live streaming special dedicated to the Solstice and Full Moon combination event.

Everyone have a wonderful week!

  • Glad that you are OK, Diane, and hope that its the same for your brother and his family.

Well, its D. Day here, as regards the Referendum....  we can all breathe a sigh of relief, as there will be no more Debates. Although, as I said to my son last night, there will be a whole lot of talk about it afterwards, whatever the outcome. I'm off to vote on my way out to see my Friend, later.  There are no posters up here, but the ones I have seen in other districts, were all for the Leave camp.

A camellia which I had to pick as it was going to put its face into the mud!

  • Good morning, all.  I must say I'm voting Remain today - apart from any other consideration I don't think I could bear the idea of voting the same way as Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, Nigel Farage or (worst of all) Ian Botham.  Plus I'm sick to death of the way the Leave campaign have blighted our beautiful countryside with their b****y placards.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Well said Clare. What could be worse than Bonkers Boris and Ghoulish Gove running the country?

  • Clare. Good to see you back. Please see your PM's. You have been missed.

  • Seriously, though, I'm still of the opinion that big changes need to be made to the absurd payments made to farmers/landowners simply for keeping their land in a certain state - if I were an MEP I'd be relentlessly pushing for change there.  The EU has done a lot for us here, though - our beaches are clean (and I'm old enough to remember all the stories about pipes pouring sewage for us all to swim in, yugh!), and there are limits on working hours as well as a universal entitlement to holiday pay - if we leave the EU how long will it take for millions of working people to lose that?  I'd like my 16-year-old to expect something better.

  • Anyway, enough of the Referendum.  Let's get onto the important stories:

    Footballer Sent Off For Farting

Did I nearly wet myself laughing at this?  You bet I did!

  • On a lighter note we have 2 healthy chicks who were rung this morning..

    Willow and Rowan :-)

  • Where have you been Clare you need to give up work again.:)

  • Agree, CLARE!!

ANNETTE - Le Creuset is cast iron with a vitreous enamel interior finish. Very expensive and I am happy to say that I didn't pay for it, was an unwanted wedding gift to youngest daughter who passed it on to me. I think that in the US they call them Dutch ovens? The bigger ones, anyway. Very difficult to clean if you burn food:-(
