HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!

Last week's Chat thread is here.

Seems like a lot of folks on this thread have been facing adversity of one kind or another. Sending you all best wishes and good energy.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

  • How old is your bed, Heather??  It's probably older than you think!  Seriously though, we often just buy a new mattress every few years.

Well, we have the England/Wales match on TV but my OH is watching on a smaller one in the dining room as Bonnie was so excited when he came home from golf, that she virtually ran around the walls. So I'm sitting with the big screen doing my sewing, alone. Somethings wrong, somewhere.....

  • The only thing that is wrong, LINDY is that you have the big screen! Footie is best watched on the bigger screen,or so I am told...

Our bed base is quite old, mattress about ten years so both will get replaced. I will be visiting shop tomorrow. Best to strike while the iron is hot. I have to take advantage of the times when my dear OH might be in a spending mood, lol.

  • Good afternoon everyone have been lurking again but there hasn't been a lot happening here and for the last week we haven't had a dry day and the grass is getting longer every day but it is too wet to cut as when wet it just clogs the mower.

Was glad to hear from MARGO and am sure that after tomorrow she and her OH will be able to get on the go again. Enjoyed the sunset photographs as here we get the sunrises but if you are not up early enough you miss them and for the past week we have been lucky if we have been able to see a few hundred yards because of the mist.

Diane can you not get more four legged animals to come and visit you and eat the grass to save you from the effort of cutting it. SiL and her sister are taking me out for lunch on Tuesday as a pre birthday treat as I will be up at my sons for my actual birthday but when you get to a certain age you don't always want to be remembered that you are a year older.

I hope OG enjoys her holiday and those getting visitors have an enjoyable time with them. Everyone I hope keeps well during our so called summer.

  • Thanks Mike. A very good article, with super photo's. They seem to have forgotten what century we are now living, but I can forgive the author.

  • GEORGE - enjoy the pre-birthday meal, as well as the actual date when you go north.  Sorry the weather has been so dreich with you, while we have been basking in summer.  Thanks for the kind holiday wishes!

MIKE - thanks for the link.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • A good result for England, which we watched on the large screen. Tennis was on the smaller screen. The washing has dried outside today, so I managed to do the ironing, while viewing. OH did the vacuuming, while I dusted and polished the furniture. Hairdresser's appointment tomorrow morning, followed by shopping and a visit to the garden centre, so I wanted everything done today. Weather forecast looks bad for tomorrow. I do hope I can dodge the rain and storms.

Heather, Have fun trying the new bed before you buy. Are your new kitchen plans still going ahead ?

George, None of us are really doing anything exciting at the moment. It is always so good to hear from you. Enjoy your pre-Birthday meal on Tuesday.

OG, Thank you for your comment. I am sure 'J' is now used to your routine for watering the garden :-))

Linda, Do I presume that you are sewing your dress hem. Good Luck.

Would you believe that our neighbouring building site was closed at 12pm today. Football ??

  • LOL BRENDA !!    Yes, finished the sewing. [Hooray!]  Tried it on afterwards, and OH, still watching the match with one eye, said "Is that new??"  ........  I had told him days ago that it was, and that I was battling with the hem of it..... boo!!

Now doing the ironing. More replies later.  It's pouring down here, after some good old fashioned thunder, by the way.

  • I don't often comment on the news, but the news from Leeds this afternoon is just too horrible to ignore.  I just keep thinking of her young children left without their mother.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Shocking and dreadful news, OG.  I thought of the children, too. No one seems too sure of their ages but they are described as "young". How awful for them.
