HAPPY NEW WEEK!!!
Last week's Chat thread is here.
Seems like a lot of folks on this thread have been facing adversity of one kind or another. Sending you all best wishes and good energy.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
HEATHER - give him his own meat dinner and stuff the peppers for yourself - two dinners sorted!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Sorry about the sad lettuce, Heather! I throw very little away, and we often have rather strange lunches....... But as I said upthread, my OH doesn't care for lettuce, so I buy the small bags of ready washed just for myself, and sadly often don't eat all of it before it goes off: annoying.
I like picture No2, as well, and have printed that one out as a small picture. Maybe one day I'll find enough space on my walls to hang one somewhere! When we first bought our holiday home, I took a lot of photos that year, and had one sunset printed on a canvas which we then hung in the main bedroom, there. I still enjoy looking at it.
More sunsets to come, as there was another good view of them the next night......
OG - I use a Site called picResize which is good for altering your pictures - you can crop pictures, change their view from "portrait" to "landscape" and of course, reduce them pixel wise or something, otherwise this Site won't accept them. So I have to alter every single one of mine from this camera :-(
LINDA- thanks - will have to play some time!
Here is the sunset which I took way back in 2012...... its still hanging on my wall in Wales.
Love the last photo on your 1.56pm post Lindy it is stunning.
Lindybird: Really gorgeous pix. How far away is that beach?
OG: Not sure if you have Microsoft package or not, but the sort-of basic package I have has Microsoft Live Photo Gallery and you can do all kinds of things with that. Are you loading pix from camera or phone? Either way, most laptops, etc., come with some kind of puny program that would allow you to change the format from vertical to horizontal and vice versa.
Heather: I had an overripe banana the other day. OH likes them, but then forgets to eat them and with our climate, things ripen very quickly and I can only eat so many. Anyway, I peeled it and put it on the garden wall hoping the possum would like it and it was long gone before I went off to bed. Any bunnies in your area that might not notice if the lettuce was a bit sad?
Got my deadline item finished yesterday morning, then suddenly woke up and realized we still had to take grandson and girlfriend out to dinner for their respective birthdays. Sundays work best for them. Realized next Sunday is Father's Day (not good); the following is her birthday (they've got plans so not good) and the Sunday after that is July 4 weekend (also not good). So we all went out for dinner last night on the spur of the moment to a little place in Santa Ynez. Grandson and girlfriend picked up daughter and delivered her home after. Everyone was amazingly mellow, food was yummy. All in all a very pleasant outing; even OH was chatting away! :-)
On another topic, a 400lb-black bear was hit by a truck on the freeway just a mile from us this morning. Such a shame. A bear was spotted in the area a month ago and was removed to the foothills, so wondering if it was the same creature. :-(
Must get b/day cards for UK kiddie contingent in the mail today. Back later.
ANNETTE - lettuce has found it's way to the veggie compost bin. My OH keeps veg compost separate from main compost which is mostly leaves. He does not compost grass mowings. A big no no but I have forgotten quite why !
LINDA and ANNETTE. This is not about loading pix from my camera - that happens as it should - they transfer into PC folders in the original format and orientation they were on the camera! What I am trying to is post landscape as well as portrait on this site - the portrait orientation always gets changed 90 degrees to landscape. LINDA'S recommendation does have some very useful features, but doesn't help in this case! I probably take as many portrait as landscape, and would sometimes want to share them, but every time I try they are turned!!
OG Still have leftovers for breakfast sometimes.
