Yesterday was a thundery day of plenty, after a slow start (leftover whale on nest) and some horrible aggression, Goliath on David. I think Fergus's suggestion is perfect (notwithstanding the pronounced genders) until the official names are decided on.
Having slept thru a lot of it, please see CC's summary (link to follow).
However, I thought that the "mystery bird" could do with demonstrating prominently, as a number of us have missed previous IDs.
Male and female cuckoo - he seems to be modifying his call with "pop-ups", and she is the "bubbler":
Here is the thunder that didn't bring on a storm, thank goodness; then Goliath exercising her maturing voice and then enjoying a couple of poops:
EDIT - And this is the male cuckoo with echo-cackle - is that him or another bird?

Lovely Lynette. If only Odin had a ring, and then we could ID him easily.

EJ screaming an alarm call.
Sounds like Odin responding.

I've lost sound and a stuttery stream :((
Intruder, back again

It's a shame the papers post such a beautiful photo but duff geography along with it makes it very difficult to figure out where it is. Rothiemurchus fish farm is some 5 miles north of Kincraig. From the narrative it reads as if Highlands are Aviemore. I am not sure odin uses Rothiemurchus but does apparently use lochan elsewhere in centre of Aviemore. Also there is a loch at Kincraig but not sure if the ospreys fish there - I have photographed the male from there fishing in Aviemore but he has a bto ring.

And again :(
