Peaceful and angelic at midnight:
Heehee, this is a nicer pose but it's not at 00:00:00, unfortunately ;-)
As you can see, yesterday we suffered the sight of #1 being starved to the verge of death (cropped from a CC snap):
IMAGICAT
A quick pop in to catch up.
Moffer - nice to see you back again. Hope all is OK now.
Scylla - that was 4 minutes of pure hell for No.2 chick. It is a mystery as to why No.1 would attack like that, is it the heat that is frustrating it, it shows we will never fully understand them, despite all the hours of watching. EJ stood quite oblivious to it all, it is just as well "little" is the age he/she is, any younger and that attack could have been fatal.
It is all quiet on the nest for now, looks like it has clouded over. I hope Odin brings another fish in quickly, to give No.1 something to be sidetracked with.
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
I am imagining EJ pulling on her braces in her position in this snip, saying something like "See you Jimmy" LOL....
She is having a good old preen to herself.
The sun has dipped. After much disgruntled chunnering, the chicks are asleep.
Birdie Num Num's brilliant DU summary 2017
She is looking "fishspectant" now, has Odin come back with a fish, we will just have to wait and see.
It has just occurred to me, it is either very very quiet on the nest, or I have lost sound, all I can hear is a soft hum.
She has gone!
Home alone!
EJ must be a member of the magic circle, as she is miraculously appeared on the nest without flying in to it.
Sun is out again, decided I must have sound as I heard the wing beats, it is unusual though to not hear any other sound at the moment, no bird song etc, just that faint hum.
Still the same scene, EJ is preening for Scotland!
Still the same scene, EJ looking around, GEM's flaked out. Won't bother posting a capture as it wouldn't be any different :-)
