The cam was down for 20 minutes up to 0130hr-ish, I was half awake and refreshing it at the time and was considering writing to Carnyx when it came back up.
No significant nest activity until EJ took a bathroom break:
Returning:
And a stretch @ 0403hr:
Culminating in another flyaround:
#1 had a stretch between buffers:
#2 also got up - this is between lots and lots of buffering:
IMAGICAT
Large stretches a wing into EJ's breast.
EJ looks content, even though she is waiting patiently for the fish to arrive.

Woops spoke too soon - she's calling again.
FISH! Wait. WHAT WAS THAT? Odin? landed on top of the chicks and took off again, leaving EJ to keep calling!
If this WAS Odin (which I am sure it was) and he did have a fish (why else would EJ be calling) this would be the third incident of fish non-compliance by Odin even though this time it did not involve a tussle. Hmmmm....
Here's a sequence:
She has given up for now and is standing amidst her chicks, moving the red hay. She looks a bit disgusted, to my eyes! Silence for the present.
Chicks are down and quiet, and EJ seems resigned to having no supper tonight. Light is fading.
The cuckoo sounds.
EJ looks so regal in this position.
I have seen male behavior of teasing with fish during courtship, beginning of mating season, or if the male is inexperienced at releasing fish and/or seems confused by competing instincts of providing fish and fighting to keep fish. But Odin has been reliably providing fish this season up until yesterday's strange behavior.
Mom, what's up with dad, and do you think we'll get a fish tonight?
Kids are jockeying for position under Mum, but don't seem unduly unhappy.
Now the beautiful golden light time.
