HAPPY NEW WEEK!

Last week's Chat thread is here.

No time for a post or replies from me, folks. Really, really busy. I'm sending good wishes to all. Heather: I hope your daughter is improving.

Everyone have a wonderful week!

  • Hi.  I hope that Brenda is feeling much better now.

OG -  I'm not familiar with The Worm Song, either. Flatly refused to go to Brownies when young. I was quite pliable but also could be stubborn! Deeply regret not taking up my mother's offer of sending me to piano lessons, though.....

Yas -  Yes, I've been busy.  I have Blepharitis but thankfully, it comes and goes. I use eye drops regularly as I get dry eyes, and I think it helps. I was unlucky last Autumn as it was bad in September, when our son got married and I was forced to wear minimal make up. Blah!

We went today to a large Farm Shop where they have greenhouses full of bedding - got enough geraniums and other plants to fill our front garden tubs and do one big hanging basket. We're not putting as much as usual in pots in the back garden as a certain dog might only dig them out.

Have been busy on the phone to family - no dramas, but things needing to be discussed. Also having more serious discussions at home over the future, with regards to the dog. There are several possible scenarios and all of them are difficult.

  • Annette - Hope all goes well.

Heather -  My desk pc keeps trying to install Windows 10 by stealth - but I've been too clever for it!!

Margo - So very pleased to read that you enjoyed the wedding, and that you've been feeling strong enough to do things lately. You must be looking forward to having your OH at home with you, soon.

  • LINDY- so hard for you both, regarding what is best for you both and Bonnie. Big hugs from here xx

  • LINDY- Yes, I was beat by the stealth of Windows 10, but all is fine. If I can do it, anyone can ,lol.

  • Since we finished watering the garden, there are some minute drops of water in the air – the ones which are so small that they evaporate before they reach the ground – can’t even see them on the plastic garden table!  The air feels like it would like to thunder, but no sight or sound yet; I hope it won’t do it in the night, although it would at least clear the air and make sleep more likely!

Linda – that sounds like a good shopping trip for bedding plants, pleased you found what you needed.  I don’t envy your choices about Bonnie, but am pleased to see you are discussing her future; I hope you can decide soon, for the good of all three of you, and especially your health and peace of mind.

Another day at home tomorrow, evening too – we shall forget what it is like to go out!  But we don’t want to do much this week – several appointments next week and then away the week after.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Lindy - I hope one of the scenarios is professional training which could make all the difference in the world for her and you and your OH.

  • Hi one and all l have decided l don't fit into this chat forum, the trouble is l feel some of you don't understand how much time, work and pain in my case goes into making some of my posts, because has some of you have said you don't do post,so don't understand and if you did in the passed didn't do it in pain, just standing recording a blackbird for 3 minutes this afternoon at 2 minutes had terrible back pain had a job to continue, but love showing wildlife so thats why l do it. so to say to me don't bother if no one replys, shows you don't understand.

l feel a lot of this community is so fixated on ospreys when so much more birds and wildlife out there to be enjoyed, and it doesn't seem fair that some of you put all your time on just these posts when they have more than enough surport, what about the little people on this site, who work much harder to bring there wildlife to you? and don't have a prement camera fixed, or take footage from some others persons site, some even aboard, where they do the hard work, of producing it.

Some say they are too busy, what l wouldn't give to be too busy, to have the strengh of health to be too busy, to garden, to cook, to wash my own hair, to go to shops, to see the sea again can't remember when because of painful muscle pains that suddenly come on makes me fearful to go far, o' how l miss my hoildays.

l don't say these things for you to feel sorry for me, l've exspected my lot in this life. But just for you to see theres others in this forum that could do with some surport, it called a communinity, which in my eyes you work together for the good of ALL NOT JUST FOR SOME, or it should be renamed the osprey community. l wish you all the best in your lives, and bare no hard feelings to you. so take care of yourselfs. from yas

  • Evening all:

OG:  Can't remember where I learned the Worm Song, but I was in the Brownies for about two minutes.  Yes, I have more deadlines during the summer due to the magazine going monthly rather than bi-monthly during the summer. No biggie though.

Yas: I typically read mysteries set in the UK - I had no idea so many English villages had so many murders!  :-))  Please don't feel that people don't appreciate your videos and what it takes for you to process them.  We've all posted various pieces of personal information and maybe photos, etc. at one time or another that are very significant to us but which others may not respond to, not because they don't care, but because they can't know their significance.  Moreover, everyone has family worries and commitments, some of which they don't even mention on here. As for ospreys, we rarely mention them on this particular thread and I'm pretty sure there are other parts of the RSPB site that aren't osprey-obsessed.  :-))

Lindybird:  We have fewer plants in pots this year, but mostly due to the ongoing drought. I can understand that discussions re Bonnie must be very hard, but you've both gone above and beyond in terms of tolerance for various escapades.  Whatever you decide, we'll understand!   Windows 10 snuck in one night when I went to bed and left the computer on, but I haven't really noticed any difference (which may not be what Microsoft wants to hear!).

Had multiple phone calls from grandson this afternoon. The truck he had his eye on turned out not to be available (aaack!)  thanks to a mistake on his employer's part, but they had a second truck that he saw today and decided, reluctantly, that it wasn't what he wanted (or needed). Now he's considering other options given that he has a very low interest-rate loan from our bank and some outstanding debts.  I see more phone calls in our future!  :-)

Have dentist appt tomorrow for normal checkup. Otherwise, OH and I are still muddling through and updating legal stuff.  Such fun.

    Take care all.

  • PS forgot to say, lf everyone on this site used it has some of you has a chat room and just to look at work, so didn't do posts and bring wildlife to you in ospreys and other widlife there wouldn't be a wildlife community site to chat and see on, because there wouldn't be nothing to see or reason to have a site/community. Yas

  • l like you Annette, but your missing my point, it's not about personal pictures, but bringing wildlife to others. thats what on the heading of this site l why l joined.yas
