Left EJ feeding her babes. I love the soft chirp they give with every bite,
Mama & both big babies fuss and wiggle and squirm about till I can't tell one from another. But I think this is a good picture of chick #1 with #2 underneath in between.
Manton Bay Mum feeding chicks. How do you like the sillhouette?
Hello June and any other readers. Love that pic of the early morning at Manton Bay ! Good to see they are enjoying some sunshine as we also have been :)
We had a violent thunderstorm yesterday afternoon and torrential rain. The lightning was spectacular and OH tried to take a pic but not easy LOL! Ido enjoy a thunderstorm !
Getting a picture of lightning would be worse than trying to get stills of traveling porpoises.!
Early morning LG. EJ is feeding her youngest. Chick #1 is lying tailend to tailend facing exactly the opposite direction. It took me several minutes of close watching to locate the chick NOT being fed. She/he is looking brown already, blended in very much with the nest.
Oh Shucks, I had a picture but apparently forgot to post it. My carelessness this time I think. Already the picture is deleted .
Glesni with her chicks
HI FOLKS - Back on Home Soil.
My next visit takes me just on the edge of Rutland Water for ten days work with a two day break in between.
This will give me a chance to go to the nest at Manton Bay - Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 including some osprey hot spots surrounding the area.
Also great news this morning that a third nest of 4 chicks has been identified.
Although unconfirmed the nest at Threave has four chicks and this along with nests at Kielder 1A and Balgavies Loch near Forfar.
The nest at Threave has a resident male Black 80 who came from the nest at Glaslyn in 2006.
Also the male at Kielder 1A came from the same nest and same parentage at Glaslyn in 2007.
Must be in the genes - Orange 11(98) and Mrs G.
