It is hard to believe but we are approaching the half way point of the osprey season.
A month ago we were waiting on the first osprey chick and debating which site would get the first hatch. Loch Garten won the race with a chick in the early hours of Saturday 14 May 2016.
Manton Bay followed hours later and then had a second hatch before the day was out.
Hatching then proceeded at regular intervals,
There was a five day gap before another hatch at Loch Garten and the second egg did not hatch.
Starting on Wednesday 18th May Loch of the Lowes hatched its first chick and two others followed within five days.
Dyfi had its first chick a day early on Tuesday 24 May 2016 and then there was a gap until Sunday 29th May 2016. Again the second chick did not hatch.
Three chicks hatched at Basenthwaite but two were predated by Magpies.
Three chicks hatched at Foulshaw Moss but sadly one has dies.
Glaslyn has also hatched two chicks.
The best news of the month came on Tuesday 3 May when Clarach (Blue 2R) was seen intruding at Glaslyn. This was the start of a grand tour when she was seen at Rutland and Kielder.

Sorry I have been away for the day.
I think it is either Orange or Ochre SV, and would plump for Orange if I had to chose between them both.
I have to say I thought Jen was brilliant on the Highlands programme last night, a lovely girl and a great miss to Loch Garten.

Yes another wonderful Project from Birdie, thank you once again for the time you have spent putting both your Summary and this Doc together Birdie, your work is much appreciated. :-)
No more leads on the ring chase.
Oh well, no worries, it can be added to the "not solved" list :-)
