Hi, Its been a quiet sort of day if you don't count the wind which has been ferocious sounding at times, its the mike that picks it up.
Only 3 fish delivered all day, this no doubt due to the weather. but having said that the young ospreys have been well provided for over the last few weeks so a day without much probably won't harm them and in fact lett all that fat on them dissipate a bit, hmmmmm.
Seriously though, lets hope the weather is better today so that the ringing and tagging can take place which is scheduled for 8pm tonight.
The bairns are close together, some fidgiting going on and looking around but on the whole they are keeping their heads down with this wind.
Happy viewing everybody, see you in the morning, night, night.

I have just noted on the other nests thread that it looks as though the Bassenthwaite chicks have been radio tagged, - so Sue C's info of yesterday was correct !
Thanks Lindybird - Makes sense. I also wondered if by not feeding them as much it encouraged them to go off and find their own food. I don't know much about bird behaviour but am enjoying the learning process!
Afternoon Hron77 if it is any consolation I missed the fish delivery as well. Love your sense of humour and glad it was done in a manly way.

Afternoon Lindybird guessed something had happened when I switched on again as there were lots of email alerts. Good boy Odin, it must still be difficult because it still sounds incredibly windy at LG and all 3 flat in the nest.
Afternoon Lindybird love the pic knew something had happened as a lot of email alerts for me and I guessed it must be a fish.
Heather: Still learning lots myself, every day...
they won't be able to fish yet but have to learn by watching the parents, later- even when they can fly they have to still be fed by Mum bringing in a catch. for a while anyway.
I know exactly what you mean, Joan. There's been a couple of times in the past few days when I've looked at the nest and thought Odin was on the nest and one of the GEMs was hidden but it turned out it was a youngster who was standing next to EJ. Amazing how fast they grow.

Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Excuse wrong blog but LOTL cam back on and both still on the nest.
Ospreys at Bassenthwaite have been ringed and tagged. Lets hope Roy Dennis is on his way to LG now.

That's great to know Alan, yes let's hope they can do it tonight.
Thanks for the heads up, margobird.
