Hi folks, hope you enjoyed the revalries (not sure of the spelling)and relaxed in America. Hi to our Finnish and Australian friends and anyone whom I have missed out.
Its been a very windy day at LG with I think 5 fish delivered in total. EJ had a job to stay on the nest at times and during the course of the day we found her huddled next to her young ospreys trying to keep them dry and sheltered from the wind. Of course they are too big for that and at times she was the one trying to get under them. She is off the nest at the time being and our youngsters are staying tight on the nest in a huddle. Do hope the wind dies down by morning so that they can be ringed and blinged and soon we shall know their names.
If it stays too windy they will try another day, but hopefully sometime this week.
Happy viewing and night, night.

Oh Dear,I have got to leave now and possibly going to miss everything. Poor EJ is really upset.
Odin has just flown onto the edge of the nest, but we can't see him.
At least EJ has stopped calling
I assumed it was Odin, as EJ wasn't as frantic when the bird landed
Best wishes Chris

It is an intruder who who is upsetting EJ It just landed briefly on the nest
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
So who was that? An osprey flew in, thought it was Odin, but EJ frantically saw it off. Now all is quiet and she has calmed down. Maybe it had been sitting on a branch nearby all this time?
Just logged on. and yes it is an intruder which just tried to land on the left side of the nest. She is still very wary.
Thanks for all your updates etc will read them in a few moments. Looks like there has been some action already and not because of the LG team being around. Mr Chaffinch , I think, is joining in now or is it another type of bird. Not too well up on my birdsong. Still very windy, I don't think they'll attempt the ringing in this wind.
Maybe it was Odin chasing off the intruder ... EJ has gone quiet now
EJ is Ok now . She is eating and feeding one chick. I wonder if the intruder was sitting in her tree . That is the direction she was looking
