Hi folks, hope you enjoyed the revalries (not sure of the spelling)and relaxed in America. Hi to our Finnish and Australian friends and anyone whom I have missed out.
Its been a very windy day at LG with I think 5 fish delivered in total. EJ had a job to stay on the nest at times and during the course of the day we found her huddled next to her young ospreys trying to keep them dry and sheltered from the wind. Of course they are too big for that and at times she was the one trying to get under them. She is off the nest at the time being and our youngsters are staying tight on the nest in a huddle. Do hope the wind dies down by morning so that they can be ringed and blinged and soon we shall know their names.
If it stays too windy they will try another day, but hopefully sometime this week.
Happy viewing and night, night.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Yeah. I was thinking that - just a little closer and we'd get bashed on the head by EJ's wings! Richard (or was it the LOTL folks) say that the chicks hold on tightly with their talons when they flap, but I swear every now and then they look like they scare themselves by almost lifting off.
I'm fading too - might just go and get another 40 winks before the day starts in earnest.
Chicks all quiet and snoozing head to tail. I can't believe how good natured they've been to each other.
This has been an extremely congenial brood. Well, it's almost 6 a.m. UK time; if we both drop out someone should be along soon....
That's what I was thinking. I'm sure someone will take over soon.
I'm actually one hour ahead here so 7 am. Should really be getting up but nothing pressing this morning so will grab a few more minutes of zzzzz.
Have enjoyed your company, Annette. Sleep well (too!)
OK guys (and FlyingC if you're still around), I'm signing off now. Chicks are snoozing after a fidgety hour or so; EJ has been and gone and been and gone again. No Odin and no fish yet. Take care all.
EJ standing guard over 3 flattened GEMs. Windy. Doesn't look hopeful this will be ring & bling day. Sorry I haven't been on, I fell asleep after lunch, catching up after late tennis nights.
EJ flew off for a comfort break. Returned to rearrange some moss and flown off for the second time. Wind and Radio Chaffinch.
Plinking noises. Rain. Wind. Rather bleak. Three lying low. EJ maybe gone to buy an umbrella? Sorry folks, I must go, time to get evening meal.
Morning All. 3 sleeping youngsters on the nest just now, alone. Not so much wind sound on the microphone - hurray! Could be 'ring and bling' day today ?????
thanks to all the overnighters for reports etc...
I am off out today, so Happy Watching All.
it looks like one of the chicks is eating..
did Odin deliver a fish?
