Hi folks, hope you enjoyed the revalries (not sure of the spelling)and relaxed in America. Hi to our Finnish and Australian friends and anyone whom I have missed out.
Its been a very windy day at LG with I think 5 fish delivered in total. EJ had a job to stay on the nest at times and during the course of the day we found her huddled next to her young ospreys trying to keep them dry and sheltered from the wind. Of course they are too big for that and at times she was the one trying to get under them. She is off the nest at the time being and our youngsters are staying tight on the nest in a huddle. Do hope the wind dies down by morning so that they can be ringed and blinged and soon we shall know their names.
If it stays too windy they will try another day, but hopefully sometime this week.
Happy viewing and night, night.

Flying C; No! Didn't scare me off; was blathering on Weekly Chat! South of France eh? I was beginning to think you were in Scotland and things were getting very weird, climate-wise.
EJ has just shown up to arrange furniture. This is becoming routine - I'd probably bop someone on the nose if they showed up at that hour and started redecorating!
Flying C: I think you're right about the breeze - Alan said it was scheduled to start up again about now....
Yes. I see her. Missed her arrival but EJ is now standing tall next to three idle chicks. Sun shining on her feathers. Definitely in the spotlight.
Glad you're still around, Annette!
I suppose if it really does get going again, we'll have to wait for the next lull - maybe tomorrow?
Not going anywhere Flying C. It's 9 p.m.here and the fireworks have just started. Will potter outside the front door to see if I can see anything. EDIT: No; just a flickering street light.
I assume - although that's never done me much good - that the LG folks will let us know if there's a change. Maybe check the main page when they open up (I'll be fast asleep - I hope when that happens).
From what I gathered (mainly on Richard's blog) it could be any time this week, depending on the weather. They like to keep us guessing, don't you know!
I haven't seen the procedure, have you? Is it live? Or do we just see hands reaching over the side of the nest? Wonder how they avoid scaring the chicks so much they'd try to escape and go over the side of the nest.
Whereabouts in the South of France are you? Are you a permanent resident? Sounds nice (my family says that area, and Spain and Cyprus, are like SoCal - or vice versa).
