Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.

These chicks don't realize how blessed they are to have "two" parents who are experts at fishing. I am sure with this wind there are Ospreys and Eagles with lesser fishing skills that had very little to eat yesterday and today.

Well, I'm up early to rendezvous with my hiking chum and then we are off to Dartmoor for three days. I'll be thinking of these young Ospreys and wondering how I can check up on the weather where they are. I couldn't agree with you more BarbaraJean - these are indeed fortunate young with such experienced parents.
Have a really good week everyone - I can't wait for Thursday already to find out names (hopefully) sex and etc and trust the weather will have been kind to them and the Staff to do that all important job.

The wind has certainly not died down yet. The three trying to get some rest with the occasional fidgiting going on.
