Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.
Happy viewing and we'll see what today brings. Night, night.

Thanks for the fish count Lindybird. it must have been so difficult today for them to fish. Lets hope the wind drops soon so the ringing and tagging can be done tomorrow. So looking forward to finding out what sex they are.
Margobird
Just to say goodnight all will be back tomorrow when I will have a lot more time. Have a good evening.
Thanks, margobird. Expect you've signed off now but I hope you have a nice evening, too.
Feed still continuing. Interesting sighting on Birdguides today:
04/07 18:51 DORSET : Osprey, Arne RSPB [S]one flying north (14:20)
I've been away and come back, and EJ is still feeding that Ginormous fish to one of the GEM's ! - the wind sounds horrific, and they are all being blown around.
doing other things so catching up. Thanks for updates. EJ is shrieking away, has she seen Odin. That wind hasn't relented at all. The three bairns are sitting tight. EJ is hanging on in their .
Notice there have been two fish deliveries, 1 by Odin and 1 by EJ. Two of them just did wing stretches over each other.
I thought Margobird said the wind was to die down this evening? When ??????????????????/

....Which is why I expect them to carry out the ringing/tagging very early tomorrow morning. The rest of the week seems OK weather wise but there will always be a gusty wind, better to do it early in the morning before the wind gets up.
