Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.
Happy viewing and we'll see what today brings. Night, night.

Its not so bad Sandra, Between the showers its great. Love walking in the wind. We're hardy EJ just flew off.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
Chicks all stirred when she flew off. All building up their wing muscles now and preening.
15.34 and it was good to see Middle chick get lift off there !
EDIT Sandra - you're so spot on with your pics today (and at LoTL) - thanks for them
had to have a very rueful laugh at your pic Lindy- EJ really does look like she is 'hanging on in ' there.
EJ suddenly started 'shouting' for food - and woke them all up! Can't see Odin yet....
...now Everyone is up and beginning to shout, too!
Must have been wishful thinking as he's not appeared and EJ has gone quiet - all the GEM's are now huddling down again into the nest to keep out of this atrocious wind.
Well done Nadal, Wonder if it'll be a Spanish double.this year
Hi Soosin - just watched the Nadal win: he made a very nice speech afterwards, thanking the crowd for their support. I'm off out for an hour now, so hope someone will keep an eye out for Odin.
Thanks for all the updates and pictures!!
It is a blessing this windy weather is happening when the chicks are nearly grown and can withstand a few less meals without damage to their bones or feathers. Plus they have fat reserves to hold them until the fish deliveries resume
