Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.
Happy viewing and we'll see what today brings. Night, night.

EJ having a real job to stay on the nest as the wind is gusting heavily. One youngster is up and preening. One is sitting and taking in the scenery . The one nearest the cam is also awake as it had a go at its sibling for encroaching on its space.
Unknown said: Morning all, Thanks for all the overnight and early morning reports. That wind is really getting strong now. They were talking about 70 mph gusts on the weather forecast last night. I suspect the ringing/tagging may have to be delayed if it continues tomorrow. I would not fancy going up a ladder to that height in a gale.

Very good point Alan. As I am hiking on Dartmoor - I shall just have to think of the ringing and blinging EVERY day just to be sure I get the right day. And the names ....................... oh, I just can't wait. Someone think very hard my way with all the names please.
EJ looks as if she is gripping on for "dear-life" on that nest.
Galeforce winds!
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Lynette D said: Its raining again and EJ is hunched down in the nest trying to protect her brood but they are too big to go under her. All three are staying low out of the wind . Two looking around them at the moment.

Oh Lynette, this is oo ahhh ing - preciious bundles of feathers (EJ included) trying to escape the worse of the wind. How many days is this going on for - I'm sure this is the third day of high winds.
Just caught your heads up about Richard's Blog - thanks Soosin
Yes, thanks to Soosin re the new blog from Richard. (Longing to know the names they give them)
Poor EJ has never looked so miserable, she is hanging on for dear life this afternoon.....
Morning all: One eye on this; the other on Wimbledon. Thanks for pix and posts all. (Now breezy at Wimbledon).
OMG! What terrible weather they are having up there in Scotland.
Poor EJ and the chicks are really getting knocked about in those gales and rain.
The forecast today for there is 60-70mph and it looks like it too! :-(
