Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.
Happy viewing and we'll see what today brings. Night, night.

She nearly got blown away again. EJ has just gone for a flyabout.
Sounds like Odin is near. EJ is moving back to make room but young ones getting up and spreading into the space.
Terry in Cumbria
EJ is calling from her perch nearbye and the young ones just followed her round. In she comes, shouting for Odin, up they start to get. He must be near. All exercising and waiting.
Although EJ is shouting on and off the youngsters have decided that maybe he isn't arriving and are preening and then all are sitting down again with one persistently calling now.
EJ looks as though she wishes the kids would shelter her now they're big enough. LOL
Another shower and EJ is cowering down on the nest still calling but trying to keep out of the wind and rain.
At least by the end of tomorrow we will know approximately what their sexes are, although it has been said that it is notoriously difficult to sex an osprey chick.
Shower over and EJ is still looking for Odin and preening. The three are awake .
Things to do so will catch up later.
Chick stats, getting ready for tomorrow's ringing, assuming weather is OK.
