Happy Independence Day America. (hope I've got my history right)
It was a very gusty day at LG. What with EJ having difficulty landing earlier on that day and trying to keep on the nest when she was there. Lots of wing flapping exercises, one nearly took off but not quite. To top it all it started to rain.
EJ is right on the edge of the nest and has now taken off , probably going to her roost tree. Earlier she brought in a very large trout and just before that Odin had brought in a fish and left it for the youngsters. One did try to feed itself and then when mum came back with hers, abandoned it and went to mum for a feed. In all an entertaining day watching these incredible birds.
Happy viewing and we'll see what today brings. Night, night.

And now there up and about. Still can't get over the amazingly rapid growth and maturing of these amazing birds :-)
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Good shot Heron. Is that from the video? Color looks different than "live" pic.
Hi Annette.
The shots from the live cam. I think it's just the dawn's early light, that gives the shots good quality at this time in the morning. :-)
EJ just arrived; she usually flies in right before Odin, but she's not callilng - oh, moving furniture again I see.
Another bout of major furniture arranging from EJ. :-)
Three GEMs home alone. Gosh, those wings are huge when they stretch. I'm off to niece's for afternoon tea.
Just read through yesterday's thread. I really appreciate all the knowledge that's shared here - I learn so much (and, sadly, retain so little), but love to hear about gender guessing, feathers, weights, etc. Thanks so much folks! EDIT: Of course, if I retain so little, do I really learn? Oh well...
Meanwhile, back at the nest, chicks are snoozing and preening. EJ off and about.
Oh this is interesting - all three trying out their wings at the same time - not a lot of room you guys. Watch out.
Hmm. Two chicks are preening and the third - at the far side of the nest, seems to have found some old fish and appears to be eating. No idea where EJ is.
Well, a very quiet early morning at LG. Chicks are snuggled together but have been awake for a while. No fish delivery as yet. EJ stopped by earlier to fuss with furnishings, then left to go fish or perch elsewhere. I'm signing off.
Happy Fourth to all fellow U.S. bloggers; Have a lovely and harmonious Sunday all!
