Hi everyone, last day of June already. I have just been looking at my pics of when they were first born backend of May, from three tinies to three huge young ospreys, the rate of growth in a month seems phenomenal.
Anyhow on to yesterday, A more or less routine day with the three getting up to their usual antics and EJ keeping a motherly eye on them most of the time. She did leave the nest on occasions for longer periods, one to go fishing and bring back a whopper, round about teatime this was.
All three are resting with fidgiting and wing stretching inbetween. EJ must be on her roost tree nearbye as she isn't on the nest.
I am signing off now, see you in the morning. Happy viewing.

Looks as though EJ is standing on a youngster, or the youngster is burrowing under for food - think it might be #1
Beautiful view of EJ's feathers as she mantled and shouted at an intruder while feeding

Lovely pics of EJ feeding the young Osps and then covering both them and the fish when the intruder arrives. Thanks DJoan and Sandy
And once again, many thanks for the excellent fish report Lindy
Been out so just catching up. What wonderful captures of what's been going on, especially EJ mantling and showing all her feathers, really something, DJoan S and Sandy. Thanks too, to all you others who have posted pics and the updates.
It sounds today as though the youngsters have had their first lesson in having to feed themselves and finding a pecking order, although that probably didn't come off as well as it might. You know what I mean.
The bairns are sleeping, spoke too soon, one just got up and had a stretch and is looking around. The other two are still resting. Peaceful on the nest. No doubt EJ is close by. Is that the moon on the horizon.
