Hi everyone, last day of June already. I have just been looking at my pics of when they were first born backend of May, from three tinies to three huge young ospreys, the rate of growth in a month seems phenomenal.
Anyhow on to yesterday, A more or less routine day with the three getting up to their usual antics and EJ keeping a motherly eye on them most of the time. She did leave the nest on occasions for longer periods, one to go fishing and bring back a whopper, round about teatime this was.
All three are resting with fidgiting and wing stretching inbetween. EJ must be on her roost tree nearbye as she isn't on the nest.
I am signing off now, see you in the morning. Happy viewing.

Two of them are having another go at eating that fish!

One of them has given up leaving one ... don't know which ... to keep trying ... seems to be having some success
EDIT - that one has now given up .... its not as easy as it looks when mum does it!!
I can't believe they're feeding themselves already:
All three are staring intently at the fish!
---they went to sleep in this position, and are still there, now!
Wonder when EJ will return?
All up and around again, and some wing flapping exercises - others get walloped in the process. I still can't tell which is which!
just logged on to see that EJ is back, one baby lying on the half eaten fish and the other two sitting and waiting, watched as EJ 'fished' the fish out from under the chick, that didnt even bother to move, and she is not feeding it to the other two.....
sorry - that should have read NOW feeding it too............
Heard some excited chirps -- EJ is back! with one of her whoppers!!!!
Two tucking in, and one hovering behind!
EDIT- see the post from ghengis, EJ may not have brought this fish after all!
I've a feeling that EJ has been in the vicinity all along as she returns fishless. I wonder if she was letting them try to feed themselves. She quickly located the fish and started the feed:
I just logged on to see EJ feeding two young ones ... I didn't know if she returned with a fish or if this is the fish they were trying to eat by themselves. One young one isn't interested.
