Hi everyone and good morning to our overseas visitors.
EJ is off the nest at present leaving the chicks sleeping. Could very well be on her perch at the side of the nest. Quite a few moths flying around.
I believe there were 6 fish delivered yesterday, the last one about 6pm. 4 very early and 2 within the space of an hour round about 5pm. Not been a delivery since so he could be curtailing his fishing trips.
Have a nice day everyone, see you in the morning.

Good morning original goldfinch that made me laugh and a great pic as well.

Margobird,
Yes I think that's the likely explanation. We've had a summering osprey in this area too for the last few weeks (inland West Sussex) which is exciting local birdwatchers. It definitely isn't breeding, as it seems to take day trips over the South Downs to Chichester Harbour every now and then! I did a walk in the area yesterday to see if I could spot it, but no luck - it's picked a good area for concealing itself.
Late signing in today.
Thanks for all the posts and particularly the pics, fantastic, like the comments made on some of them too.
One youngster is curious as to what that knocking noise was just then but has now turned itself to preening. One youngster seems flat out and the other one nearest camera is curious too. Mum keeps watch. Glad its a lovely day up there.
EJ has gone flyabout and the threesome are exercising their wings and having a good wingflap.
My their looks have changed into young ospreys, one nearly got the camera then, thankfully missed. One is a bit unsteady with the wing flapping and bumped into its sibling. Such an amusing sequence then of the wings being exercised.
Its getting warmer on the nest, and EJ has flown off for a bit. All the youngsters rise and start having a bit of flying practice...
--however, I can't seem to catch them with their wings outstretched today!
One is actually perched on the branch at the side of the nest. All are curious as to what goes on in the big wide world as well as preening themselves.
She is back on the nest, one of the young ones is chunnering. EJ decided to move bits of moss about.
" Hey mum what are you doing, you're nearly stepping on me."
All lying down when EJ comes back, with a "swoooosh". One says Hello, by chirping at her without rising.--now she's gone again!
EJ is pondering what to do, and off she goes for another flyabout. The three young ones are alltogether at the camera side of the nest, resting.
She comes back quickly, with some bark.
