Hi everyone, happy viewing through the early hours.
Barbara Jean posted a pic on yesterdays diary (at the end) of the chicks in May, compare them to now, they are young ospreys not those fluffy little bundles anymore.
EJ and her brood are sleeping, all is at peace.
See you all in the morning, night, night.

It looks like a beautiful, calm evening at LG. EJ is sitting on her perch surveying everything ... and then goes on a flyabout!
EDIT - Snap Sandy!

Soosin I had not thought of all the single chicks and they seem to be fine with out having the benefit of nest fighting.

at this time of year the fish are more active in the cooler mornings and evenings, in the heat of the day they just lie at the bottom of the river / loch and dont do much! this could explain the days where there has been a rush of fish in the morning and a cuple in the evening, but a long gap during the day xx
After being away all day Thursday and not much at the computer today, it is good to read all the discussion here - and news of the Three, of course - and thanks for all the pictures.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
been on and off all day so just catching up . Its a glorious evening up at LG and EJ is the queen of all she surverys. 3 younguns sleeping off the last feeds. Will Odin deliver a late night snack., nobodys screaming for food just yet.
By the way meant to thank you for all the great pics.
It looks like Super Odin may have decided the young ones are fat enough and has cut the fish deliveries down to 6 a day
Roy Dennis in his book says that is the "normal" average number of fish per day for a brood of 3.
Normal 0 false false false
Very interesting ghengis – thanks for that fish info – certainly makes sense,
Lindy – am very grateful for the final fish score :)
And you are quite right Margobird – every pic does tell a story and I’ve enjoyed every one – for which many thanks once more DJoan Lindy Sandy (hope I didn’t miss anyone)
Ghastly shift at work but so great to sit here with a coffee gawking at the great pics and reading all your posts you lovely lot you.
It looks like Odin has clocked off for the night. All three are sleeping and EJ is doing her keep watch routine.
