Hi everyone, happy viewing through the early hours.
Barbara Jean posted a pic on yesterdays diary (at the end) of the chicks in May, compare them to now, they are young ospreys not those fluffy little bundles anymore.
EJ and her brood are sleeping, all is at peace.
See you all in the morning, night, night.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Very quiet on the nest, and around it.
The Fish Count for today, so far, for anyone just tuning in:
!st fish: 4.55am, then 5.33am, 5.50am, and 8.25am - 4 fish so far...
Middle chick whittering away - couldn't POSSIBLY be hungry !!!!! Nearly ringing time then fledging then .... boo hoo
EJ just come back from a quick comfort break. She is tidying the nest... "the mess these teenagers make is unbelievable...."
....now she's into some serious beak sharpening....makes an amusing sound on the microphone....
...& then decides to sit there and show us her feathers...
Probably worrying and being silly but it is a long time since the last fish and from the sounds from the nest it seems as though they getting hungry. Wonder if this is he day EJ will go fishing. Come on Odin where are you.
Margobird
margobird - I don't think you need worry ... there have been other days when there have been very long gaps between fish. EJ just gave out a quick 'call' ... wonder if she's spotted him?

Sure there's no need to worry, margobird. As Joan says, there have often been long gaps between fish - he is probably enjoying one just to himself this afternoon: he has to keep up his strength, after all, & there are no 'leftovers' for him now that they are all so big and hungry!
Mmmm Eldest is certainly interested in 'noises off ' and can't possibly be hungry. But, sigh, gotta get ready for work now so thanks for a final fish count . Enjoy the evening .
EDIT yes, listen to Lindy , Margobird. She's right. He's probably enjoyed a fish quietly to himeself and is now fishing for (un)hungry youngsters. All is well.

I heard that call and wonder if EJ has seen Odin. I am a terrible worrier by nature, drive my OH mad at times.
It's the start of wing-flapping time:
