Hi everybody, what a day its been.
LG has been fairly quiet all day with comings and goings of fish deliveries, I think it was 5 in all. Those chicks are enormous now, coming up to their peak growing spurt.
At LOTL things have taken, at present, a turn for the better. I will try and post the last blog that Peter wrote::
21 June 2010 2:36 UpdateWhat a day it has been for all involved. Isn’t this bird amazing, she has now fed herself and the chicks 4 times now this evening. This is good news and yes there is a but, but she still is not 100%. Let's hope our male can get some fish into the nest early tomorrow morning so she can feed again soon. Fiona and I will be here through the night to keep an eye on her. We will keep the blog updated as usual, which reminds me to thank the guys at Red Paint for getting the blog up and running again. They do a great job for us.Peter
Thats for those of you who don't always get time to look at LOTL's blog. Hope it helps.
At present, EJ is getting some shuteye and the chicks are dozing with the occasional bit of restlessness. I think it must be midges that keep going in front of the camera.
Night, night, all back in the morning.

Another half time fish from Odin. We used to have an orange at half time but I guess ospreys prefer fish.
How does he know when its half time?? Is he an England fan, or a Scottish fan, or a Finnish fan? So many questions unanswered today....
They are so hungry you would think there had not been any fish since this morning.
On the main blog someone says "at around 6.45pm Odin arrived with a fish and EJ wasn't there!! He left the fish with the chicks and when EJ returned she looked so confused!!" And there's a link to a youtube video of it!

Here is the link form the main blog. Odin brought a fish and EJ was gone so of the chicks were trying to feed themselves for the first time ( I think)
Great watching how they tackle the problem . I could hear Odin alarm calling in the background so he was standing guard before EJ returned .

Evening all been busy this evening but had to check all is well in both nests. Odin is remarkeable with his half time fish deliveries and I see EJ was away when he came with a fish and the chicks wanted to help themselves. Great stuff.

Thanks for that Barbara Jean. Apologies to Linda and to Odin!!
I'm just amazed that everybody missed it - the first time the chicks try to feed themselves and virtually nobody was watching!
sounds like a fish incoming
Here he comes again with another fish!
And now a full-time fish!!
Odin brings another fish. :-)
