Weekly Chat Sunday, June 20,2010

Hi everyone. Tired from long day; just saw LOTL blog and not sure I can watch the cam. :-(

Off to check out previous posts.

  • Morning all. LG chicks just got breakfast and sun is shining. I'm trying my hardest to make my shelves odd and decided to ad here a pic of a similar racks LOL

Was reading LotL's diary and was thinking English expression Out of woods and remembered that some of you guys like different kinds of sayings so decided to tell that here we use a phrase we are not in clear waters yet, in similar occasions. Probably 'cause we have so much lakes here. Finland is sometimes called Land of a Thousand Lakes and just checked that here is 187 888 lakes (under 5 hundred square meters don't count)

Annette, I have four weeks freedom!!! Diane, hope the storms don't do anything damage there. Each and everybody else, have a nice Tuesday! Seems like a warm day coming here so will be outdoors today

  • We had severe  storms here in Southeastern Wisconsin.  I am fine but we had several tornadoes touch down in cities and towns  around me .

Many homes have been leveled . Emergency crews are out  rescuing people from their basements .  No  major injuries so far

We have an Osprey nest in Muskego and the  city was   hit with 110 mile an hour winds and they think a tornado. The nest has a night cam but it is down so I can't see if the  nest is still standing. There are 3 chicks that are  younger than the  LG chicks. I hope they are all OK .

  • Glad you are fine, Barbara Jean. It's difficult to me to really understand what's it like to live somewhere where storms that hard is "normal".

  • Morning All:  sunshine 'wall to wall' here as they say.  What an eventful day yesterday at LotL - my admiration for these birds has increased once again, if that's possible. Fingers crossed for the brave Lady of the Loch, to come through this. (or at least for her to see her chicks fledge successfully)

Lots to do so must get started.

    Have a Good Day All.

  • Good Morning All. Beautiful morning here and we will be spending some hours in the car, driving to my sister's !

Barbara Jean, So glad to hear you are fine after those extreme storms, but so sorry for those people, who have lost their homes. It must have been so frightening.

Diane, Hope your storms have all passed through and all is well with you.

Must go. OH keeps asking am I ready yet !!

Enjoy today and the lovely sunshine.

  • Barbara Jean what awful weather but so pleased you are safe.  Dreadful for people who have lost everything.  We moan about our weather but very rarely experience anything like this.

I do hope those osprey chicks are OK.

  • Good morning auntie had a laugh at your pic of the racks.  It must be wonderful for you to have a month off and I hope you will have time for a lot of relaxation in your warm weather.

  • Diane hope you are safe as from reading another blog the weather has been causing absolute chaos once again.

  • Afternoon all ... at least it will be afternoon by the time I post this! Another beautiful day here .... not a cloud in the sky ... yet.

Diane - I hope you are safe in this latest storm to hit your area. The BOT owlets seem to be making good progress - had to laugh yesterday afternoon when all three were lying sprawled out on the bottom of the nestbox ... must have been way too hot for them :-)

auntie - enjoy your four weeks of freedom ... like the 'odd shelves' !

Thanks to all for chat etc

Time for Wimbledon soon ... and the BUDGET :-(

    Take care
