Hi everyone. Tired from long day; just saw LOTL blog and not sure I can watch the cam. :-(
Off to check out previous posts.
Hi again: Had lovely visit with friend; saw her lovely little grandkiddies (4 year old boy and 18 month girl); then we went off to our former hangout for a great breakfast and very long natter, then drove around Long Beach and saw all our various haunts, homes, etc. She had good news in that she and her long-time partner have just sold their house in Kansas City for a not-bad amount and in a terrible market. She got the call that an agreement had been reached right when I walked in the door, so she was thrilled to bits. (She's separating from her partner along with the house, and I told her she needs to come back to California to be near her grandkids!) :-)
Welcome Peter Osprey: Assume someone by now has replied regarding the as-yet-unnamed LG chicks.
Diane: Rotten weather for you again - is the farmer feeding the corn fish from LG? It's growing at the same rate as our chicks! If Spain wins the World Cup I want you to pick some lottery numbers for me.
Alan: Thanks for your perspective on the USA/Slovenia score; needless to say, folks not happy here.
Paula: Another lovely photo - that tree sure provides a lovely backdrop for your robin!
OG: Offer your black iris lots of encouragement.
dibnlib: Came home tired from nice day, but tired from driving etc.,, and when I read the various posts re LOTL, had a little boohoo - and will probably have another one. I gather the LOTL folks are there all night tonight (Saturday). I don't think I can stand to watch. But as you say, she's among friends. :-(((
Hi, all. I'm hoping for the best possible outcome at LotL and a quick end to her suffering.
Annette: I'm so glad that you had a lovely visit with your friend. I've never had much luck picking lottery numbers. Darn it. Paula: Beautiful robin photo! Alan: Thanks for the World Cup info! DjoanS: Congrats on the greenfinch visits. They are so lovely. OG: I loved your iris pic! Hope your cough is gone now. Also hope that Margobird, Brenda, and Dillon are all better. Caerann: If you're around, I wanted to tell you that I hope your new job is going well and you're coping with all of this heat up there, neighbor!
Everyone have a great Sunday!!!
Diane: Hi and bye. What are you planning for Father's Day?
Just a quick scribble (can you scribble electronically/ What I mean is, if I was writing this it would be scribbled …) on another real summer’s day here. Going out later – concert this afternoon at Gatehouse-of-Fleet (about 45 miles west) so making a day of it.
Annette – thanks for starting our week in your usual efficient style. Glad you had a good time with your friend and her good news about the house sale (‘though sad that they are parting).
Diane – still got occasional dry tickly cough, thanks for asking, but not troublesome at night now – this could be more to do with allergies rather than left over from the infection.
Fathers everywhere – greetings!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good morning all ... a bit warmer and less windy today, but still no sun :-( Never mind I had a great start to my day ... spent ages watching two goldfinches on the feeder and on the ground and having a drink!
Margobird- I hope you enjoyed your concert yesterday
OG - enjoy your concert today!
Everyone else - thanks for chat etc
Off now to do chores while the nest is quiet!
Take care
Joan - avid bird and nature watcher in Northumberland!

Lovely Goldfinch pic, DjoanS !
Morning All: Thanks as usual to Annette for starting us off again, these threads are such a pleasure to read, with everyone's various news and 'doings', and interesting pics!
Hope everyone enjoys their day today, its sunny here so we are off on a walk with Dog and Husband, then our Eldest is coming to visit as its Fathers Day.
Here is a nice pic of flowers to cheer up those who are mourning the sad day at LotL:
DIANE dillon improving daily, thank you.
Lovely pics of flowers and birds, many thanks. We are taking a trip to the north coast ( visit castle of Mey and Smoo Caves) at the beginning of July, so hope to get some nice photos then. Have booked Dil into kennels so we are free to do as we wish. He is a good traveller but some of the roads will be pretty tortuous so it is best he stays at home. Fingers crossed for good weather, ours so far has been pretty poor.
Good morning all on weekly chat thanks for all pics and news from yesterday too. Not a lot of time to spend on here today but just had to see what I have been missing. Have a good day all.
Margobird
I should have gone out an hour ago - OH will be dragging me away, screaming, from the screen soon!
Hope you enjoyed your night out last night, margobird.
this is my rogue gull
