Chicks are getting more adventurous in the nest.

At the moment EJ is trying to rest but the youngsters keep wriggling about so disturb her.

Terry I am sure they would love some of your icecream. The remains of the fish must be cooking on the nest !
I was a volunteer at LG last year and the majority of fish brought in by Odin were Brown Trout - the source being the River Spey, which is about 5 mins flying time (as the crow flies! - excuse the pun!) Odin has been seen catching fish there. The fish farm is a good 10/15 mins flying time to get there alone. It has always been thought that the Ospreys at LG do do most of their fishing in the Spey.
As you look at the webcam pictures, the Spey is off to the left of the picture, and that is the direction that Odin usually appears from with fish and flies off ultimately in that direction after delivery.
Hope this info is helpful to those of you wondering about the fish type and where he gets them from.
Thanks Liz LFW for the information about where Odin catches his fish. Wondering if you can point me in the right direction over volunteering.
It is my hope and dream that I will be accepted as a volunteer next year. I know that I cannot apply until November but is the application form on the RSPB website and if so where do I look for it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Liz LFW: That is very useful info.
Meanwhile, the osprey carpet:
Thanks for that LizLFW you confirmed what I already thought. Brown trout and not Rainbow trout. Odin could not have brought so many fish back so quickly if he had been going to the fish farm. Brown trout from the Spey and earlier in the season some pike from nearby pike lochs.
Oh mum, don't make me eat any more! (Titch) No 1 looking interested but too lazy/fat to get up.
Terry in Cumbria
EJ having a go at the remainder of the fish but only Titch is forcing some down. Can't be bothered or can't get up to get it. They must all be well and truly stuffed.
Chick 1 has decided it could manage a bit more but laying down to take it.
Now dad's brought another fish, shame there's no freezer.
Thanks LizLFW, I thought that is what I remembered from my visit to LG last year and that it is EJ who frequents the fish farm.
