Hi everyone.Well what a day we had on the 15th. Foogy start, six fish, and endless other dramas. Sound fairly windy at LG at the moment. I guess those chicks are learning about a Scottish "summer" at as early an age as possible. LOLPaul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
Me too!! - its Won-der-ful !
Brenda H and Margobird - No one goes near the nest area ( that includes LG staff) unless absolutely necessary eg Tesco fish delivery last year, and also when the chicks are collected for ringing.

Has EJ got something stuck on her foot? She arrived with it but it still walking around with it. (Oh and good morning all; back to check posts after lunch).
fish #6 @ 8:19..
looks quite small
20.19 another fish this must be no.6 I think. All the tell tale noises told me what was going to happen. Well done Odin.
Liz LFW sorry if i was a bit flippant about going near the nest, I know that would never happen. Just being a bit silly over the way the chicks now fire off out of the nest instead of all over the edge.
Half time fish!!!
Yes Alan - a half-time fish ... same as last night!

Hi Tish.and all
So they're tagging two again this year?
There is absolutely no denying the benefits gained from being able to follow migrating birds by satelte tagging them rather than just ringing them.
An article in "British Birds", May 2010, answered many questions I had about it and put my mind at rest.
I know Its about being able to see the WHOLE migration journey and getting an almost daily picture of where they stop and rest and refuel etc instead of just knowing that they go from A to B. I know that it enables real action to be taken at home and abroad to ensure protection of ALL the habitats used throughout migration journeys thus enabling reserve designations and conservation strategies. There is no doubt that these tags are absolutely fantastic research tools
BUT !!!!!!! Personally, I'm over the moon that only two are being tagged and again one will be left to fly free as bird
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
