Thanks for putting me right. EJ is mantling and shrieking as the intruder is around.

Heavens, you look away for a couple of days and No 1 and No2 have lost their stripe and gone mottled, Titch still quite a bit smaller. Something disturbing them.
Terry in Cumbria
You can hear it in the background calling, EJ is not happy.
Intruder alert . EJ alarm calling and mantling . I can hear Odin near by with his high pitched alarm call. It sounds like he is in the tree next to the nest. He is clearly standing guard
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Some interesting action there - EJ flew off for a bit and while she was gone there must have been an intruder fly twice over the nest as the two older chicks were following it (was quite comical - hope someone recorded it). EJ then flew back and mantled furiously. Then it sounded like a male alarm calling and EJ is still mantling now.
She is definitely agitated, come on Odin to the defence.
EJ has changed her alarm call for her demanding "We need dinner call" LOL
She is very insistent! One or more chicks is occasionally joining in on the food soliciting chorus LO L
Odin must be in a near by tree munching on his latest catch :) Poor guy he has to eat too.
I posted a query about the 5th fish on the main blog.
This is what I've got so far : from MrC
''I saw EJ fly off fishless and return fishless, but did not see what happened to the fish. I think that's what I saw, lol''
????
Just looking back, - it was 21st June last year when EJ went fishing and the 17th June the year before that. I wonder when she will start this year. Maybe not so soon with other Ospreys about and Odin really isn't doing so bad. His fish counts each day are on par with last years.
EDIT - Sorry folks! this is a bit random.!! meant to post it as a reply on another birdform, Too many windows open
Gol eee, that male intruder looked so like Odin, didn't he. What an evening for our birds.
