Daily Update (LG Nest) Monday 7th June

  • Hey Heron: You're up early/late (never know which it is with you).  :-)

  • Annette: Truth is sometimes I forget whether  it's late or early myself LOL.  The local birds are joining in with the ones at LG, so I guess it's early now.  I think I'll put some coffee on then get their breakfast ready.  THe coffee's for me and other humans.  Don't think even the Starlings would touch that stuff.  Of course knowing the locals I could be pre-judging far too quickly LOL.

Here's EJ, trying not to say out loud: "I feel higher up than yestarday."

Warning!  This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar.  Approach with extreme edginess.

  • Heron: :-)  EJ is going to feel even higher tomorrow morning. Wonder when she'll give up trying to sit on them.

She's feeding them leftovers again.  Nice they have some. I think it's #1 up and eating; #2 is looking interested but hasn't rushed over. Titch seems to be fast asleep still.  EJ picking about for bits and pieces and also looking around as if to say "Where's that guy with the fish?"    She's just left the nest.  Meanwhile, #1 and 2 bumping into each other and woke up Titch, who promptly goes back to sleep. All settled again - and EJ back and still looking for breakfast. Where is that fellow!?  Oh good luck EJ; she's trying to sit on the chicks again.....

  • Poor EJ will get to the stage where she starts to sit on the chicks, then starts to think: "Hmm, I think I'll feel safer if I just keep my wings spread.

  • OK guys. Well it's almost 11 p.m. here and I'm about to pack it in for the night. EJ is still looking around for Odin and calling now and then but it's mostly quiet on the nest, apart from odd mutterings from chicks.  Maybe Heron can keep an eye out for the first fish of the day?  Take care all

  • Those chicks with their rumps sticking out remind me of my gr-son playing Hide & Seek (when he was much much younger). As long as his head was hidden, he was safe, or so he thought. Yes, I played along. Or perhaps a teenager with his/her head under the pillow on school morning. LOL

  • Oh AQ!  My grandson used to do that. He'd pull a blanket up over his head and "hide" from me. What a hoot! OK. I'm off to bed. Night all.

  • Good night Annette

  • Fish delivery. But is anyone interested? Oh yes here comes EJ and those gaping beaks.

  • Odin departs. Titch is at the back. Don't just stand there, mate, go around them. .
