Well another day has begun and EJ has her head down for a bit of shuteye, but for how long, before the family stirs. Lets hope she gets a bit of sleep. Trying to get comfy again. Those chicks are growing fast.
Goodnight all, see you in the morning.
To those who don't realise, I have changed my avatar to one of EJ in the evening sun, 2.6.10. Couldn't resist it.

Titch and #2 looked stuffed, #1 was carrying on but now it too is stuffed. Where do they put it all. Some left over for later.
EJ comes round to settle them after moving some moss. Sleepy time you three, let mum have some peace.
What is she calling for, Odin has just delivered and the family have eaten. Unless she's telling Odin there is some left for him.
I am wondering the same, Lynette !
Lynette - I don't think EJ wants him sitting in a tree resting ... she probably thinks he should be away fishing for the next meal!
Just checked last year's blogs to see when the chicks were ringed and tagged - it was on 6th July. With the progress of the chicks this year I'd find it surprising if they left it that late. At their present growth rate they'll be pretty advanced in a month's time.

If chicks # 1 & 2 continue to let Titch eat first Titch will equal the others in size in a short time. Then Titch may fight for the top slot in the nest hierarchy . I wouldn't put anything past Titch trying ! That is one feisty little bird
The other situation I find fascinating is when chicks #'s 1 & 2 take pokes at each other Titch just puts it's head down and lets them go at each other LOL
I think the next month will provide interesting viewing :)

The temperature must have gone down. EJ has her wings spread to completely cover the chicks and she has her head down to prevent cool air from getting to the chicks
It also sounds like it is raining a bit

Poor man, can't he have any peace!! Could be that DjoanS
Night vision is on and EJ is sheltering the chicks under her wings. She looks contented at the moment.
We are having a thunderstorm down here in Northants.
