Well another day has begun and EJ has her head down for a bit of shuteye, but for how long, before the family stirs. Lets hope she gets a bit of sleep. Trying to get comfy again. Those chicks are growing fast.
Goodnight all, see you in the morning.
To those who don't realise, I have changed my avatar to one of EJ in the evening sun, 2.6.10. Couldn't resist it.

Sandy said that yesterday, Foxtail - it makes me wonder if #1 is female, as they are larger, with big feet.
Here they are just now:
can hear flies buzzing around, and it looks hot. EJ seems to be trying to shield the chicks from the sun.
Afternoon everyone. Quiet on here today. Presumably people are making the most of this gorgeous weather. Foxtail - thank you so very much for posting the recordings of Odin feeding chicks earlier this week. Absolutely billiant for those of us who missed it 'live'. Thanks to day and night shift for keeping the updates going. I noticed the large feet this morning too and thought the same as you Lindybird - could be a female. There was a moment earlier today when I thought eldest chick was going to bounce over the edge of the nest. EJ had to flap her wings and manoevre herself into its path. I had to look away. Couldn't bear to watch just in case but thankfully all is well.
Poor EJ -the chicks are now pestering her for food (except for Titch, who is still asleep). She's doing her best to shade them, and looking out towards the direction of Odin's return.
Come on, Odin, its a good day for fishing !!
Has anyone actually seen Odin today? I know the chicks had a feed this morning but I don't know if Odin brought it in or if it was left overs. They are looking as if they would rather like to eat now although EJ is not calling. Well, not yet anyway.
She usually calls when she can see Odin coming, or sitting nearby, Foxtail. The feed they had when I was watching after breakfast time, was leftover fish.
Have just looked back at the posts, and although Gary says there was a lot of leftover fish on the nest at about 3.30am, no-one has seen Odin yet today.....
EDIT: The last fish delivered was reported at 11.00 pm last night.
Yes I saw that fish delivery last night. Wish we could put a satellite tag on Odin for times like this when he very occasionally goes awol. Its such a worry with those hungry chicks on the nest and poor EJ must be getting hungry by now too although they have all been very well fed this past week so hopefully have built up good reserves.
One thing's for sure, Odin will get a noisy reception when he finally turns up.
Agreed Sandy. There is rain forecast in the Aviemore/Kingussie area according to the BBC weather website so lets hope he is on his way to the nest with a large fish.
Woo hoo! fish delivery!
