Hi everyone.
EJ has just fed the chicks again and is now settling them down for the night.
What a day it has been, high drama this afternoon with the intruder about, but Odin and EJ defended superbly.
Chicks have been well fed despite the windy conditions for fishing. I think there was a total of 5 fish? Perhaps someone can correct that if I'm wrong.
Happy watching to those who carry on through our night. Goodnight, sleeptight EJ and family.

Golly, Brenda, I thought every 4 hours was hard work when I did it!!
She is a great Mum.
A gap in the time flow here, as not much happening: EJ shifting on the nest, wind blowing some more....
At present EJ is sitting tight on the nest, the wind is really ruffling those feathers. Uh Uh, up she gets and has a bit of a brush up. Chicks sitting tight and huddled together to keep warm.
Could hear EJ peeping at the chicks whilst I was on the phone: came in and she was shifting a large stick around the nest. It looks as if she had a nice wing stretch just now:
Chicks seem eage for some food but Odin has not delivered just yet. All having a wriggle about and exercising even in this wind which sounds ferocious.
Does sound awful, Lynette. Very gusty, which has even EJ trying to keep her feet when on the edge of the nest. The sun is coming out at last, though, and one of the chicks has even tried to copy Mum and move that large stick ! Here is EJ having a preen:
Oh my, did you see #1 (I think it was #1) moved that stick EJ just brought and then she(?) picked up some twigs too?
my photos in flickr
where's the fish then? Yes, Auntie your saw correctly :)
Hi auntie - was it hunger or are they already copying Mum ?? That was amazing.
Have labelled this one "3 necks and Nohead"
Just been having a quick check through the posts to see what's been happening! All 3 chicks up on their feet while EJ preens ... #1 having a bit of a wander. #3 is really tiny compared to the other two, when you see them all standing together.
