Ej is resting and trying to keep the chicks warm but they are getting quite big now and it makes it harder for her to keep them under her breast at night..
At least now she seems to be catching a quick nap.

I don't know how many fish today, but I am sure the wind is making fishing very difficult. He has managed to deliver at least 2. The water will have large ripples distorting the location of the fish. Odin will need extra fish for himself today to keep up his strength After 8 fish yesterday I am sure the chicks are fine
Formerly known as Barbara Jean
Very many thanks for that Barbara Jean- yes, of course, the flippin' wind does make a difference, doesn't it.. Two is a comfort - I once saw chick 1 so hungry, after cowing his slightly younger sibling (whatever's available is mine, syndrome ) he/she had a go at mother LoL. Well, let's wish Odin success (he's usually so good, bless him) and trust fish 3 will be delivered soon.
Many, many thanks to all the contributors today - so easy to speed read through the posts to catch up on the day's events.
Re: the intruder that landed about 9:40 this morning (the only ten minutes that I managed to watch today) - I was amazed that it began alarm calling and actually saw off another intruder! What a nerve.
Although very windy at LG at least the sun is out.
Great to see the progress the chicks have made so far.
Good grief: A real "page turner" on here this morning with all the drama. Thanks everyone for pix, posts and videos!! What does an intruder hope to gain at this stage of the game? Is it just the nest or is he/she hoping to acquire a ready made family? Love the way the chicks flatten out when trouble is around; also the shot of the super-curious chick trying to peer over the side of the nest.. Are the chicks more lively/inquisitive than last year (wasn't watching then).
Heron: Want to add my thanks for "industrial language" terminology :-) I'll have to remember that.
Right now EJ doing her morning yoga and chicks quiet, though notice that Titch has crept closer to Mom over the last few minutes... Back later; hope nobody gets blown away in the meantime.
All three chicks slumped in Indian file. #1 has his one of his/her rapidly growing wings around #2:
Wow! Aren't they growing. this is the first good look I've had at them. #1 is very bold - I was afraid he/she was going to go too close to the edge of the nest. I suppose EJ would have stopped that.
#1 pops out from under Mum and has a scramble towards the edge of the nest for a quick look round:
Just logged on again to see I think no.1 at the side of mum taking in its surroundings with the other two in the cup. EJ has now stood up and is just watching over them like a super mum does. Titch is cheeping to mumfor some food and EJ moves to the side of the nest. Doesn't want to get pecked I imagine.
EJ off for a quick break, chicks settle down in the cup and play almost dead.
Back she comes, waiting for Odin I think.
Odin hasn't a hope of equalling his haul of fish from yesterday as it's evidently very breezy at LG. It looks likely to be a similar day tomorrow but settling down after that so no worries on the weather front.
