Daily Update (LG Nest) Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Hi all. Fingers crossed the cam will be fixed soon.

  • Evening Lindybird just logged in again and pleased to see the feeding regime going so well.  Shame we don't have the stills camera at night while the live cam is off.  Will just have to be patient until morning.

  • Me too, Margobird.  They are in good hands with these wonderful parents. I shall be out tomorrow so hope that there will be someone on here to record events. (I'm sure there will be!)

  • Lindybird I am quite sure you will be kept up to date with pics and news.  Still haven't got to grips with capture shots but will blog as much as I can during the day.  Have a good day tomorrow.

Thanks to margobird lindybird, barbara jean, gary, lynette annette . and evrybody else I have missed out.  What a crew you are keeping us all up to date with the goings on.  And it is sooo much appreciated.  Nice to know family are coping withoutus :))  I have got so many chores done this week and trying to chase starlings from the garden in a nice way.  But there was a baby starling crying for food and then an adult jumped on it and I went racing out to chase it away.  Now i have to stop putting  food out for birds and find a rat proof feecder but I think the table in the garden might do.  I don't mind the rat as long as he doesn't bother me.  I live by a burn so they are expected.

Nice to know also they are all being fed so I can  carry on with "thing"  that have to be done.  Blethering again.  Thanks again everybody for all the info!!

Hi Tish, We have disovered a rat in our back garden today too. All bird food has been brought in and the 'rat chap' telephoned....I s'pose they are like mice...where you see 1 there's bound to be a family of the little ( or rather ....LARGE)blighters. I think they may be living under the summer house. I just hope they don't take any of the fledglings we have calling on us....mainly starlings.

  • Hi su, They are a nuisance aren';t they.  I had the rat man about three years ago and he put down grain covered with poison in a box/trap thingy. But now that part of my garden near the burn I left to overgrow for hidey holes for birds etc.    /  I don't particularly like them but as long as I keep my back door shut.  My cat doesn't like them either he used to bite off their heads and leave them lying there.  Yuch!!  He's to old now the cat!!  Bur they do say that whereever there is a human a rat is always 6 feet away!! And they breed quite  - whats the word - prolificly or something anyway they breed a lot!!!.  I

Gary meant to ask how did you get report from the ground at LG?

Margobird, a lady from the FB side is volunteering there this week, in one of the forward hides and posted the update on her FB page:)

[/quote] GARY - can you please post a copy of photo of Odin bringing in the fish shot. I have gone through your link on earlier post and it says its not available at the moment. Please, if you have a photo saved can you possible post it on this site.  I have lost all my photos of LG that I had snapped on a programme I have - inadvertently deleted them whilst trying to sort them out.   Thanks.

  • Hi everyone

Thanks for all the updates. Apart from my posting this am, had no chance to check what's been going on. So thank you:) Great news.

  • Lynette, I'm sorry, but that picture has disappeared!!!!!! I didn't save a copy on my computer. i don't know if anyone else did?

Also, the bird wasn't Odin:( The person putting the pictures on said after putting them on, the pictures were taken from the "next door neighbours" of Odin and EJ.

    Sorry all round

  • Thanks to one and all for great captures of the stills. I inadvertently lost all my pictures of LG and have had to trawl through to get an overall view of events. I have now built up a lovely portfolio of photos.

It is frustrating not being able to see the live camera but I put my faith in the team at LG that they will get it sorted as soon as they can.

Let's hope it won't be too long.
