Hi all. Just starting this 'coz going out to birthday dinner with OH tonight (Indian - his choice). Back to catch up with last week's final posts later, (which included a great photo from OG's trip).
LG live webcam up and running!!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks original goldfinch but poor EJ it is pouring with rain or even sleet. Hope it stops soon.

Morning all:
OG: Re your canceled trip, felt same relief when granddaughter announced they couldn't afford to visit for another couple of weeks - gave me time to regroup. Apparently Trucker Steve had (has?) full-blown pneumonia and is pootling down to Atlanta with delivery, then, we hope, to bed for a few days. You don't want to mess with pneumonia... Missed the bit about the allergy to TK, but how will cat adjust to quiet life after roaming the highways and byways.....? Lovely pix!
Lindybird: Another winner! :-)
Heather: My mother always told me that a woman needs her own money (be it in the bank or the biscuit tin - hers was in the latter!) for things like - um - laptops, although my Mom's usually bought things for us kids that my Dad would've considered frivolous. I've passed the same message on to my daughter/granddaughter. We got my granddaughter a refurbished Dell, which has worked fine - but the new ones are very reasonabl priced now. Perhaps you can negotiate something with OH who, "in case he reads this, of course isn't as bad as that! " :-))) My OH doesn't worry too much (mostly because I look at stuff and think "is it necessary to keep body and soul together? No." :-)
BrendaH: Missed your original post about the Chelsea Flower show until Lindybird mentioned that you'd had a good time. What was your favorite part?
OK off to shower and head to Malibu to see friend. Back later. Have a good day all.
Just back from a few days away, so got a bit of catching up to do. Glad to hear that chick 3 has hatched. We all thoroughly enjoyed The Priests in Glasgow and Mum coped ok with getting there ( she has osteoporosis and walking even short distances can be a problem.) Typically the lift at Linlithgow train station was u/s, but so long as we took it slowly with time to rest she managed without too much distress.
tried to post a couple of pics before we went away so will try again now. you need no intro to the first and the second is to prove we can take pics of things other than Dillon.
our new rockery, Landscapers did the donkey work and OH did the planting
DIANE think I have gone overkill on Dillon - 2 pics on the 25th and another on the 28th (the reason is that an error came up on the 25th so we thought it was a no go)- Dillon is definitely beautiful and gentle but probably not serene (though he accepts all those compliments, thanks to your Dad. For a Retriever he is actually quite hyper.
ANNETTE bubble wrap on the sapling container to protect it through our cold winter. Guess we can unwrap it now
Dibnlib - so pleased the trip went well and that you all enjoyed the concert having got your Mum there without too much trouble - bad about the lift. Lovely rockery - nice bright colours. Is that the famous painted fence at the side? And is that the new tree too?
PATRICIAT dignified is not a word I would use to describe Dillon. Definitely a normal dog.
OG yes, that's the fence and that's the new crab apple tree
Colourful rockery, dibnlib. You'll enjoy that for years to come. Here is a bit more of our trip to Heswall on Monday: there was an abundance of the May blossom this year (that is, the blossom on the Hawthorn bushes which always come out in May) Here is one of our paths on our walk:
--the bushes were laden. "Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May, Oh Mary, we crown thee with blossom today...." an old song about the May blossom.
--- it also smells wonderful - fresh and sweet but not too heady.
