Weekly Chat, Sunday, May 23, 2010

Hi all. Just starting this 'coz going out to birthday dinner with OH tonight (Indian - his choice). Back to catch up with last week's final posts later, (which included a great photo from OG's trip).

  • Hi, all. We've had more storms tonight, and I've just now turned my computer back on. I'll catch up tomorrow. Wonderful pictures posted today! So glad about Lily and Hope. AQ: Will try to send the rain to you and Wattle.

For Annette and others who watch the trucker webcam: Trucker Steve is in trouble. He was feeling ill, and he pulled off of the highway in Kuttawa, Kentucky, around noon. He posted that he was going to sleep for an hour. No one, not even his mother, has heard from him since. It's now 2:00 am here. The webcam is still showing the place where he pulled off of the highway. No one can reach him. Thought I'd let everyone know.

  • Tears all round this morning with news that Hope has been reunited with Lily who accepted her back.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Now need to concentrate our thoughts/prayers/positive energy on Trucker Steve!  Thanks Diane.  Back later.

  • Sunny Thursday morning  - about 12 degrees and painting man is here.  Coughed two hours to start the night, had a warm drink then sat up the rest of night – not much sleep, but a bit less coughing – both feel really grotty this morning.  After a week, these viruses (he started it first) make you feel that you’ve never been without!  Beginning to wish we’d rested last weekend.  Annette - pleased you are getting tree stabilised for now, gives you time to plan around possible replacement.  Hope you enjoyed your friend’s visit.  AQ – wondered how long before leaf-blowers made a return appearance on these pages – didn’t think it would be as a Flying Fox deterrent – couldn’t help laughing when they returned that night!!  Nature will have its way.  Diane – yet more storms – poor you.  Thanks for alerting us to Steve’s difficulty.  Will watch out for news during our daytime.

  • Good Morning ALL.

Raining and quite cold here this morning.

Brilliant news about Lily and Hope. Thanks for the link to the video Alan.

Really enjoyed ourselves yesterday at the Chelsea Flower Show and the weather was much warmer than forecast. I haven't looked at our photographs yet.

I must look back at yesterday's news now.

  • Update on Trucker Steve– his post about taking an hour’s sleep was 11:45 am Wednesday.  Diane’s alert was 2:00 am Thursday there, but comments on his blog suggest his mum had made contact with him Wednesday afternoon and on Wednesday  at 8:21 pm she had posted on his blog, on his behalf “Spending the night in Kuttawa, KY”.  So his wherabouts is known.  It seems his problem is allergy related, but medication is restricted by need to keep driving.

BrendaH - so glad Chelsea was good - look forward to pictures.

Here's one from Ballindalloch Castle last week:

  • Richard has added to Blog: computer is kaput - new one on its way.  I have made the following reply:

Thanks Richard - sorry to hear about computer there.  Is there money for the new one?  Will Head office make a special allocation because LG Abernethy is one of its best reserves (even THE best)?  Or do we all need to help?
