Hi folks: I'll be taking OH out to dinner for his birthday tonight, so will be MIA for a bit. Take care. All quiet on the nest now.

Wonderful sight! Can't help thinking first two hatch dates close - might mean 3rd chick will start at a disadvantage - lets hope it's as fiesty as Garten last year!!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
EJ settling down again now, feeding over (for a wee while) :o)
Here is a clip of EJ struggling with that twiggy branch and swiping the chicks with it. Thankfully they seem none the worse for wear:

You're right, OG.
Lovely to watch them feeding. EJ is so delicate. Here they are:
& in this one EJ looks a bit headless, but is reaching down to tear off another bit of fish for the little 'uns..
-- its lovely to hear how she talks to them whilst feeding.
how good is it to be able to watch these scenes. I say it every year but the gentleness of these BoP with their chicks is just a joy to see.

The sight of EJ leaning over chick 1, so that chick 2 could get some food, was very touching. For a few moments I found myself quietly shouting to chick 2: "I suggest you move to a better position for feeding.", although in more industrial vocabulary. Then EJ once more reminds me how great Ospreys are.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
It is a joy, Soosin.
ChloeB: good idea to post a clip of the twig incident for those not here today.
EDIT; Like the idea of 'industrial vocabulary' Heron !. do wish that EJ would get rid of those bits of shell now cluttering up the nest. Now, we can hear the little ones peeping still, under EJ's breast.
lol Heron, sounds like my kind of language also
Heard a whooshing noise & came in to find the wind has got up rather, now.
Oh, Odin has come back as I write, and is peeping a bit but EJ will not move: 'go get fish, boy!'
