Hi folks: I'll be taking OH out to dinner for his birthday tonight, so will be MIA for a bit. Take care. All quiet on the nest now.

Look to the left of chick #1 lower back and you will see the head of chick #2
Barbara Jean: I was thinking that too, but wasn't brave enough to say it LOL
my photos in flickr
The reason I think it is not totally our of it's shell is the head bobbled like like it was laying on it's side

Was that fish that Odin had in his talons? Why on earth didn't EJ take it?????
Odin came with a fish. Ej is screeming for food but did not get up . I can hear the chick(s) calling Odin flew away with the fish.
Is EJ afraid to get up because chick #2 is not completely out of its shell?
Odin back with that fish, EJ still calling but not taking it????? Does she want Odin feeg her???
Odin brought the fish back. Ej is screaming for food and will not get up to take it . Poor Odin doesn't know what to do He is now eating some of the fish . The chick(s) are calling for food . What is going on??
EJ's behaviour is very odd
Odin is eating the entire fish on the nest while EJ screams for food. She finally got up and took the fish. THERE ARE 2 CHICKS She is feeding them . Odin is still on the nest re-arranging twigs
She only gave chick #2 one bite, but I think that is because it just hatched and can only handle a tiny bit of food right now
It was wonderful to see how EJ fed them both :)
As far as I can tell, #2 is still half inside the egg.
It seemed to take a bite or two, though I don't think newly hatched chicks need food for a few hours as they're still absorbing nutrients from the egg.
