Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.

Oh sorry. Well Lady did lay three eggs back in April but one did not hatch. Now it has obviously been in the nest ever since but I think it was hidden in recent times. Then for some odd reason it reappeared today I think. These observers on the Dutch forum took this as evidence that she had laid it today and thus cured herself.

Thanks Alan, for posting this link. There is something very touching on this clip that I don't think has been commented on yet. When the Laird and Lady are each feeding a chick, between each mouthful Laird gives his chick, he looks over to Lady to see how she is managing. If there is true affection between birds, it was certainly very visible in those glances! It's one of the memories of this remarkable time that will be with me for a long tome. ;-)
Smiles, Jan.
Tiger: Oh not you (lost in translation)! I was referring to the Finish site - I think they got things all turned around.
Lady awake and up - preening a bit. One of her chicks just had a little poop. Contrast not as sharp as at LG, but dawn is coming so things should improve.
Daylight cam at LOTL and there's our girl! And someone's already on the cam.
Lady leaves for a flyabout. Apparently no-one is on the cam right now to follow her.
EDIT: Think I maybe assumed she'd flown off, but could be she went straight to the high branch at the far side of the nest.
One of Lady's chicks just managed to flap right to the side of the nest; thankfully, returned to the middle of the nest. Lord knows we don't need any more drama!
Oh my. I think Lady has returned - there's someone sitting on the branch high above the nest - I can just see tailfeathers - ah, they've moved the cam and yes, it's Lady back from her little trip. Wonderful.
Compared to EJ, Lady appears hunched over somewhat. Of course, she is a lot older and we all know what happens to bones as we - ahem - age. I think she's waiting for breakfast. I'd like to stay up to see the first fish (Odin, of course, has already been and gone at LG), but am really tired tonight. Let's see what happens....
Glorious morning at LOTL. Sun catching Lady's feathers against a background of blue water and green.trees (OK, OK, so not as poetic as Fiona and I haven't even been up all night!) :-)
