Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Lovely, Sandra! Do they dream, I wonder? Would she be dreaming of fish, or have some genetically imprinted dream of soaring through the open sky to the warm islands and rivers of West Africa?
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks for lovely pic, Sandra. We can't have too many of them, to look at in the Winter when we are ospreyless....
Like the idea of their dreaming of Africa, OG!
Original. These are such special birds :-)
It is a pity that none of Lady's offsprings has ever been tagged, at least I don't think so. Someone might know if any has. Wouldn't it be wonderful to know that some of her chicks have returned back to UK!
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Sandra I have lost count now of how many I have saved now. Each one very precious to remember beautfiul Lady for always.
Margobird
She has produced so many young, Sandra, it must be safe to say that her offspring are definitely here in UK and may even be not far away from her right now.
She is looking really well now! She is looking a lot healthier :-)
I wonder if any of the intruders are some of her young and they remember the nest? It makes you think, doesn't it?
I am going to do some sewing before teatime.
Bye

Its a shame Sandra but we will never know.
Sandra: We did wonder once, when watching the L. Garten nest, whether they were the young ones returned who sometimes were accused of being 'intruders' . It could be the same here at LotL. We don't know how the birds feel when they come back to where they were raised as chicks, do we?
It is such an idyllic spot, this nest of Lady's. She has had a wonderful life. I agree that she is looking so much better now, except for being rather thin; its hard to think that she was ever so ill.
