Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
OK guys. Off to try to catch up on some sleep. Take care and take heart - next year will come quick enough bringing - we hope - lovely Lady! Keep the faith folks!
Thanks Annette for keeping an eye out and at least you saw a crow.
Sandra I know how much you are missing this very special family, I feel the same way and everytime I look at the blog and read the poems which are still being posted I get very tearful. As Annette says perhaps lovely Lady will be back and to keep the faith.
Margobird
Looking in for first time today, and nest is empty. Distance cam is back to showing the feeding table at the centre.

RSPB Giving Nature a Home
Afternoon Lynette and thanks for the pics. I watch this a lot in the winter and always amazed at how quickly they managed to empty the trays.
Hallo there; Just checking in and will keep an eye out just in case someone shows up (other than Mr. Crow).
Well, having said that, I see that the cams are down, as confirmed by the official blog. Oh well.
Checking in again and see that the nest is empty. Have we have had any confirmation that chicks have departed and also the Laird, yet.
Looks a peaceful scene at LOTL
Lynette beautiful capture of LOTL this morning. Have just read the diary and it seems the Laird is still around. No sightings of the chick but they think they may still be around. I would think if they had gone the Laird would leave but who knows. Cannot get used to the empy nest though.
Very quiet on this blog now but thought I would post this. It is a poem written by Nick. Note the very clever title.
“NESTALGIA”
THE Loch, THE tree, The empty nestThe memories of what’s beenA myriad of imagesOf all that we have seen
The meeting, and the courtshipFor Lady and her new boyWho, tho’ he started haplessly,Went on to bring such joy
Two brand new chicks they hatched here(Alas there was no third)The perfect start to family lifeFor our Lady and her Laird
A near fatal illness,Our dear Lady in such strifeThen a sip of magic waterThat restored her precious life
Two wonderful new ospreysMore “new kids on the block”Have secured our Lady’s legacyAt this mystic, magic, Loch
And now the nest lies empty,Dishevelled, and forlorn,But this story doesn’t end hereSo let not your hearts be torn
For our Lady’s spirit lingersIt’s tangible, and clearAnd she’s whispered in the treetopsThat she’ll be back again next year
Margo - who IS Nick - I recall no posts from a Nick- this is outstanding.
