Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Morning all, missed the action then. Still, its great news as it was touch and go yesterday as to whether one would do it. So glad and thanks Sandra for the fantastic pics will copy one or two.

Wonderful news. Thanks very very much to Sandra for catching those pics of that great moment.
Both youngsters are having a lie down now. No sign of parents but they won't be too far away. EDIT: Lady just flew back onto her perch.
10.04 and scene is exactly the same. Two in nest, Lady on perch. Off to start my day with a spring in my step having seen that flight this morning. Lovely.
I was watching on camera 2 and recorded this just before 9am - both chicks levitating above the nest in turn - and minutes later came the fledging

A good day !
Great captures everyone :)
Here is my video of the whole sequence from Cam 2. Take off, return of Marge, fly past and finally landing back on nest.

Good morning all and thanks to everyone for capturing the moment. All grown up now and I can fly. With that wind it was ideal for take off. Great news and safe landing as well. Off to catch up with other news now.

Good morning Sandra and thanks for the brillian captures.
Lady and the young ones are shouting for Laird to come in with a fish??
Lady trying to keep her balance in the wind and shouting like mad.I don't think its an intruder alert, she wants food. Its very windy for fishing
