Thought I'd start a separate thread for the posting of news, updates, pictures etc. from the nest at the Loch of the Lowes. Now that the first chick has hatched at Loch Garten the Daily Update page is going to get too unwieldy if it is used for news from LotL as well as LG, and the "News From Other Nests" is getting pretty full as well.
Lady on her branch at 9:10pm and the chicks are sleeping.
If nothing goes right, go left! :-)
Margo, you are right.
I have never seen any agression with these two chicks from day one! Such a lovely pair of young ospreys :-)
Evening everyone. Thank you for the pics and posts. Love the last pic from you Sandra of Lady on her favourite perch. I watched last weekend in despair and wonderment as she plunged to the depths of illness then recovered slowly and remarkably flew down to the loch. It was simply amazing and her recovery has progressed all week although we must remember that she has been weakened. Nevertheless, I am delighted that it seems she will see her chicks fledge and agree that ringing and tagging would be too risky given the events of the past week or so. Very happy at the outcome and what wonderful viewing we have had today.
I am going to close off for the night now. Before I go, here is a pick of our young "head to head" snuggling!!
Good night :-)
Goodnight Sandra. I agree Margobird - the behaviour on this nest has been exemplary, in fact a couple of times I have been urging second in line for feeding to push forward but parents have fed both equally to my knowledge.
Thanks for updates and pics. Can't get the camera up at the moment. According to the main blog Lady has been taking some flights out - strengthening herself etc.
See there have been fish deliveries through the day and those youngsters are growing fast - young ospreys now compared with 3 weeks ago.

Hallo everyone: I see Lady has a special place in our hearts. As I log on now, she's eating and feeding the chicks - so, an early fish from the Laird that I missed??
Chicks lost interest in breakfast for a minute - but wait! - there's a bit left. One decides to fill up just in case, but both now turning away. Much steadier on their feet these days, especially when they try out their wings.
Chicks resting and preening; suspect Lady is on her favorite perch, but Cam 2 is "foggy" this morning; can see only the silhouettes of the trees....
View has cleared and there's Lady on her perch.
